Lou Harrison A Portrait

Very well done!! I confess that I came here drawn in by the reassuring grandpa face of the artist I've only heard mentioned. The album seems very engaging, at least for me; it has characteristics that intrigue me.

GUACAMOLE RECIPE - Ingredients for 4 people: 2 ripe avocados, 2 spicy green peppers (chiles serranos), 2 ripe tomatoes, 1/2 onion, 1 clove of garlic, lemon juice, cilantro, salt. Preparation: Peel the avocados, scoop out the flesh, and chop it. Then gently mix it with the finely chopped onion and garlic, diced tomatoes, and thinly sliced peppers. Season with a mix of cilantro and lemon juice to your liking; salt only at the time of serving to avoid browning the avocado.

Guacamole, in addition to garnishing tacos and tostadas, can be served as an appetizer accompanied by totopos or crostini, or used as a salsa alongside grilled or breaded meats. Optionally, you can enrich it with 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil.

Ambition and egocentrism are fundamental qualities for breaking through in Hollywood, and there’s no need to read tons of books to figure that out. There are countless examples of how the big shots at the studios decided "what" an actor should be, beyond what they actually were: Rock Hudson is a striking example. I don’t know a damn thing about Marilyn; I only interpreted a photo, which you might think looks fake while I don’t—neither of us can claim to be right, as an image opens up to various purely subjective interpretations. And anyway, you didn’t understand a damn thing about what I meant either, so I find it useless to continue this controversy; opinions and personal interpretations don’t matter, only dogmas do. Larock was honest and fair in her comment; she didn’t claim to be a bearer of truth, nor did I. I just analyzed the photo and shared my point of view on the icon Marilyn. You, on the other hand, insist that you understood everything, doing so in a somewhat arrogant and presumptuous manner. That's it, I’m done. Had I known that a simple and modest review of a damn photo would provoke such behavior and that a stupid comment would matter more than the subject reviewed, I would have never done something like this. I don’t like provoking, and it bothers me when the controversy, which can be there, mind you, goes beyond a sense of proportion. As far as I’m concerned, this ends here; I have better things to do than ramble on about nothing.

from a very unpleasant female perspective? Actually, it bothered my partner, who is male, a lot as well, in addition to Azzo, Telespalla, and others here, so there’s also a male point of view. Your comment shows that you know very little about Hollywood in those years.

Thank you Kosmische and everyone who understood what I meant and to those like you who contributed with links and photographs. The rest, on the other hand, is hot air.

You know, Cornell, I haven't seen it and I don't intend to, but for some reason, I suspected exactly what you mentioned in your review about this film. Do I have clairvoyant abilities? :) No, it's just that unfortunately, with very few exceptions, making Americans scared just doesn't work out.

"My War" is a loud and painful kick in the ass aimed at respectability, at sonic cleanliness, at good feelings, and, probably, a nice clubbing to the head of those who, as already pointed out, talk about music without understanding a damn thing!: :DDD. Excellent review.
