I was expecting something more mainstream, with more action; I don't know if you understand what I mean, but I appreciated the film anyway. A nice surprise. I share your opinion about the actors; Bale is a bit cold. However, the representation of the 1930s in which the story is set is masterful. But it is too long and in certain parts it’s really flat.

I think it's great that "Up" breaks away from the usual Pixar patterns. The film is, in fact, not only very well made, but also carries a moral and a story that are slightly deeper and more intelligent than its predecessors, but that doesn't make it unsuitable for younger audiences, right?
