Modest Mouse The Lonesome Crowded West

I've been rediscovering '90s BANDS that I loved but haven't listened to everything (Meat Puppets, Sebadoh, etc.)... I’ll have to do the same with Modest Mouse. I only have “The Moon...” by them, which I really liked back in the day. Very good review, though a bit too long.

@Kosmo: and that's a shame, because I think it's an author who deserves more. Sure, the genre proposed often edges into a certain type of acoustic pop (especially in this album), but when it's well done (like in this case), bring on the pop...and he also writes some excellent lyrics.

I listened to it a couple of years ago, and I wasn't convinced at all. In the new folk scene, there's much better out there.

I know their monumental "69 Love Songs": if they had condensed that abundant dozen of masterpieces into a single album, we would be talking about a milestone. As it stands, it remains one of the biggest missed opportunities in music history, in my opinion. I’m not familiar with the rest of their discography. The review is good, but it seems to be written a bit hastily: you could have added something...

Great review, I like how you write. I had read something about them, the street rock really appeals to me, I will get them. Thanx

@odra: thanks for the link, but it seems to me that there aren't the ones you recommended! Well, I’ll make do. With Camper, I'm going to go backwards now, "Our..." seems to be one of the prettiest, indeed.
