Junkyard Junkyard

The Junkyard are one of the many (too many?) bands that at the time I only knew from a couple of tracks, and that I never explored further. For a few months now, thanks to your reviews, I am filling in quite a few gaps. Among other things, they should be doing a type of sleaze that I quite like (since I don't even remember those two tracks anymore, sigh...)

Holy shit! Radio Birdman are one of my fucking favorite bands! I know them by name, but your awesome review has created an overwhelming desire to check them out! Fucking garage! Thanks, mate! Holy shit!

Welcome back, Simone! You’re one of my favorites, even though you never comment on my (very few) reviews :-). You recommended these to me some time ago, they’re on my list, but I still haven’t managed to find them. Once again, congratulations, you’re a guarantee!

@Algol: the Black Cobra don't have anything to do with the latest Baroness at all. Nor with Minsk. I quite like Mastodon as well, I haven't listened to the latest yet. I recommend, if you don't know them, Kylesa.

So you don't like Sven Gali... look, I think the first 6 songs of their debut are real street gems. Then the album starts to show its weaknesses a bit, but the first part is heart-stopping. Heavens possess great technical skill (the lead guitarist is excellent) but are a bit too polished for my street tastes. Make a note of Skin 'n' Bones. Crashdiet is getting close, Ratt is playing in Sweden, in England... it would take a miracle to get them to come to Italy.

So, as I think you’ve understood, the class and the aor, the big keyboards and the multi-layered angelic choirs are not exactly my cup of tea... I prefer the street-sleaze side. However, I’m looking forward to listening to "Revolve," and I fondly remember a couple of tracks from "Screw it." Now I want your judgment on Heavens Edge, Sven Gali, and Spread Eagle. Even brief, you don’t have to write full reviews! :-) Go for it.

Here, the Bartle assessment pushes me away, away... @ALFREDO: Stefano Cerati, journalist for Rumore magazine. No ignorance, though, don't worry :-)
Chan-wook Park Trilogia Della Vendetta

sublime review, don't listen to the detractors. Park is a superb author, with multiple levels of interpretation. The films are all painful and essential, 4 balls each. My favorite is still the third one, with the final scene being both sorrowful and melancholic, like sandpaper on the heart.

Even if you're an Inter fan, you definitely deserve a solid 4 :-). As for them, I’m much more skeptical: I listened to one of their tracks (Baghdad) and didn't find it bad, although a bit derivative (Black Sabbath, Motörhead, the usual names). They're one of Cerati's favorite bands, and just that makes me suspicious... I don't know, I see them as somewhat overrated. Although the other day I was flipping through their 180g vinyl, and the temptation to buy it almost got the best of me.

Crazy album and excellent review. Well done to Dillinger (the Faith of math/hc, as Kemo says) and good job to you. Double 4.5!!
