Niccolò Fabi Solo Un Uomo
Voto:
The term most often associated with Fabi and particularly with the reviewed single is quality. The lyrics seem sharp and mature, the overall proposal elegant, yet a bit too...subtle, something that doesn't quite capture. One of the few genuine singer-songwriters not yet in retirement age...I'll try to listen to him again. An inviting review.

I contest the idea of crappy music for 14-year-olds. We fight against everything that is not music, including that Adult Oriented crap if necessary. Therefore, the Modaxì is crap in the toilet.

@MADCAT Surfer Rosa + the EP is too much meat (and what a variety!) in one pot: excellent but I'm lacking the stamina. I avoid the remaining production out of an excess of caution.

I will take your advice, Mr. Pataweb. Your setter is lovely (5 stars), he resembles mine. As for Canadian, I only know the whiskey.

I take from the Rockit website the following considerations on an EP from 2007 by the reviewed band:
"The Dondolaluva could be likened – with all due respect, of course – to a group of students who are starting to work seriously for the first time after having done an internship at the glorious school of the New Italian Rock, observing the tricks of the trade of those two or three bands that survived the era of 90s alternative rock in Italy. When we were all excited because someone was finally kicking an entire generation of dejected musicians in the butt, with cellulite on their legs and in their guitar strings. The fact is, however, that these three tracks from 'Forse Cercavi… Dondolava?' are also dejected. The formal and technical lessons from the usual suspects have been widely absorbed, even in the lyrics, which aren’t bad. But the creative spirit, that’s what’s missing. And no matter how hard the band tries to energize the arrangements with robust riffs and powerful vocal lines ('La Faccia Dopo Un Anno'), the feeling is that we remain in the realm of the unexpressed. A pseudo-grunge with softened edges that stirs nothing, neither the heart nor the butt. What a shame."
I don’t know them, hence I neither agree nor disagree, just a purely informational note.
Thomas Nagel Una Brevissima Introduzione Alla Filosofia

Alternatively, The Ticket Tunnel by Maurizio Ferraris, Einaudi, offers not universalistic questions but philosophical dilemmas of reality. Philosophy is boring if you don't know how to communicate it, just like musical aesthetics, art history, literary exegesis... but when reading Ross, Hauser, and Frye in that order, the approach shifts.

Guaranteed that I won't buy it. All you have to do is ask: so what?

Fundamental in the list is Boston with their self-titled debut. Adult Rock is my only jam, More Than a Feeling is a great track. What passion, expertise, and clarity in the review!

Dear PVC, I disagree. My worst in the duet Dune Mosse with Z. I will make sure to listen to the three trumpeters you mentioned. Have a good weekend.
