Maybe I’ll be the only one who appreciated the sound and experiments of their second phase more, from Come Clean onward. Doppelganger, as much as I loved it, feels a step below their first three EPs. I appreciate the atmosphere of Cuckoo. I agree on Hung Up, but shall we talk about Bleeding Heart and how it ends the album?

When they made their return with Not your kind of people, I was a bit disappointed at first listen. This one, however, I loved right away. Striking, consistent, dark, and finally with tracks that last longer and break free from the classic mold. I first got to know them, or rather started following them, with Beautifulgarbage; for me, it remains the best album since Bleed like me (which I also appreciated).
My favorite track: If I lost you, it hypnotizes me!!!!

I listened to the album; what can I say, it’s nice, carefree, she has a beautiful voice and a lovely presence, definitely well-packaged, and certainly better than many of her colleagues as mentioned in comment no. 3. However, this retro aura is noticeable in very few songs, and the rest didn’t excite me much; I preferred the days of Lizzy Grant.

The problem is precisely that it's hard to be objective when reviewing an album of your favorite band (and I know a thing or two about it). I don't really like track by track reviews either, but quoting comment 22 back in the HT days, I too used to convince myself they were good, feeling "quite" alternative. However, I haven’t really appreciated much of their work since then, and this album doesn’t seem like much either, sorry :)
