Well yes Don, I read what you wrote about Morrissey's writing. You're not the first to criticize that "miserabilism" and tendency for self-pity. It's a very common stance that I absolutely do not share, as I don't believe there's either one or the other. But it is what it is. In any case, I repeat myself. If you consider Strangeways better, where the writing is identical, it means that you place the music on a different level compared to the lyrical/poetic content (in general). The Smiths wouldn't have been the same without Morrissey's lyrics; that's an undeniable fact. As for the assertion that Strangeways is musically better than The Queen Is Dead, I don't know what to say. I disagree. However, these are just opinions.
