Honestly, 3 out of 5 points seem a bit few for an album that explores new musical spaces, quite successfully, and where nothing is taken for granted. As for the rest, good review, focused and essential.

Great review Stanne90. I haven't fully embraced the album yet, but I'll do so as soon as possible. Everyone here talks about "Maaäet," perhaps because it's more recent, but for me, their best musical effort remains 'Väre.' This is probably also related to their first revelation to me.

I am also visiting this review a bit late, but I definitely want to leave my rating for an exceptional album and a review deserving of it.
One note: no one mentions a track that, in my opinion, both in terms of structure and vocals, is the true gem of this work: I’m talking about ‘Burning the remembrance’, an authentic emotional peak, a mix of feeling, resentment, sadness, resignation, and anger, (‘decadimento irreparabile’ as Sotanaht used to say) as only they can convey through music.

Many thanks to everyone who posted a comment, especially to SUPERVAI1986 and ROBY86 for the incredibly positive remarks! I agree with you, ROBY86, 'Astronomy Domine' is probably the least successful piece in this concert.

Great review, congratulations DarkHaem. But above all, congratulations to Paradise Lost, who after exactly twenty years of career have finally and rightly released their official live album, the possibility of which has been talked about since the time of 'One Second', so right in the middle of their current career... It took them a while, but when the Halifax combo decides to do something, it seems they really mean business: a live album with a bang! It captures the atmosphere of their show perfectly, written and signed by someone who has seen them live four times... including one of the opening acts for HIM (who honestly produced two very valid albums early in their career, only to lose themselves in the music business just like boy bands and many teenage pop groups) where after just 40 minutes of our PL's concert, one could easily leave the venue, because during the hour and a half of HIM, it was drastically dull.
One last thing that is not specified in the review or in the comments so far read: the DVD includes one more song, 'Isolate', performed at Koko club as a second encore live, specifically to give those who buy the DVD an extra final thrill...
It's not a long way to go, it's gonna end in your pain!

A heartfelt and well-written review, probably one of the best I've read on this site.
Those who hint that this is a 'useless' album or a way to kill time between 'A Natural Disaster' and 'Horizons' likely listen to Anathema like any other band, that is, with their ears, while this is one of those few bands that either you listen to with your soul or you can move on to something else. This work envelops the listener in the most appropriate atmosphere, bringing forth the true and most unattainable essence of some of the most beautiful songs by the Cavanagh brothers & co.
