Theatre Of Tragedy Assembly

An album that holds up to the previous one, though relatively with more ideas and better produced, but let's be honest... we’re still on scandalous levels. I agree on Liv's voice, always very flexible and suitable for different sounds, but perhaps I don’t see her fitting so well in these contexts; I always prefer her as a siren at the mic in the style of her early albums or ethereal like some pieces from her solo albums. "Automatic Lover" is a decent track in terms of production; the synths and vocoder create a noteworthy futuristic atmosphere, the beat stings quite a bit, but it's a pity the vocals don’t deliver at max potential. "Flickerlight" is another excellent track with a truly catchy chorus. "Universal Race" is my favorite, an authentic bomb. "Episode" and "Let You Down" are quite anonymous, "Superdrive" sounds like the worst Madonna from the Music era, "Play" is embarrassing, "Starlit" isn’t the masterpiece of sadness you speak of; on the contrary, I find it bland and syrupy, just like the following "Envision," which is incredibly boring. The same treatment for "Liquid Man" and "Motion," irritating. Overall, another flop after its predecessor... rating 1. The review is poorly done and very brief... same rating.

an album quite boring and trivial, even though in some rare moments nice melodies and cute ideas pop up, but they are few and far between. Their trajectory has always been a continuous decline; the glories of the first album are unlikely to be reached again. The two voices with this new approach to the microphone don’t appeal to me at all, especially for liv, who I find a bit wasted in this work. If we add that some tracks seem to have come straight out of emmetivì, the mess is complete. Horrible commute, city of light, crash concrete, retrospective, reverie, kocmnyeckar 3pa. Worthy of the worst MTV starlette, namely the title track and image. Fragment is salvageable (quite valid). Only the good chorus of machine is worth saving; radio is the best track on the album, catchy. As for the rest, very little, really very little... the review is good.

excellent detailed and precise review. the cd is the least successful of the band, many tracks are underwhelming, among the good songs there are great it's the fear, jillian (choruses and denadelian interpretation especially, pity it's WAY too similar to angel) stand my ground (many have panned it, but it always seemed like a good piece to me, although it's obviously evanescent) angels and memories (the best of the album). the rest is not much, but a 3 is more than enough.

bland and concise review. I don't understand why you keep writing "monther earth" in all your reviews... it's called mother.
the CD is the least successful of the band, many songs fall flat; among the good tracks, there are excellent ones like it's the fear, jillian (choruses and denadelian interpretation in particular, too bad it’s WAY too similar to angel), stand my ground (many have trashed it, but I’ve always thought it was a good piece, even if it’s clearly evanescencian), angels, and memories (the best on the album). the rest is not much, but a 3 is more than enough.

It's the height of irony for someone like Sly to criticize the review... have you re-read yours? It's elementary and pathetic; not that this one is any better, but at least it's somewhat acceptable and provides a (though sparse) slightly better overview of the album.
Anyway, it's a more than good album, just a bit better than the debut. Tracks like "Gethsemane" (the instrumental interlude is spine-chilling), "Devil & the Deep Dark Ocean" (screaming accompaniments), "Sacrament of Wilderness" (beautifully powerful, with great riffs), "Passion and the Opera," and "Swanheart" (a spectacular Tarja) are of extraordinary beauty. Not to mention "Moondance" and "The Riddler" (among the absolute best from NW), and "The Riddler." The album loses a bit of steam towards the end, my rating would be a 3.5 but I’ll round it up to 4. Obviously, it sounds even better than its predecessor, which suffered from production issues, and Tarja had already improved vocally.

I quote nemo, why do you publish these reviews if you don't even talk about the album in question? pathetic.
