Well, in my opinion, you’re making a big fuss over nothing. Contemplation could have said that the Ramones made trivial songs, that the Clash disgusted him, that would have been fine. Instead, he threw out the provocative statement "punk is nothing," which is objectively nonsense. It's like saying that Futurism meant nothing in painting or that hermeticism was a futile thing in poetry. To say "punk" without specifying a period, a movement, or something is equivalent to understanding only part of a social revolution that changed the way people thought, played, and behaved not only in England but in many parts of Europe. Just look at how many bands today draw from the lyrics or musical compositions of the period '77-'80 (many of these bands inappropriately). Was it all negative? No. Was it all positive? Not at all. But pretending it’s just a negligible "thing," in my opinion, is unrealistic.

One of the albums I've listened to endlessly. However, I don't believe there are people (at least I hope not) who think this CD is "one of the most deliberately evil CDs that exist on Earth." The review is well-written, but (just my personal opinion) too long and meandering.
Morbid Angel Blessed Are The Sick

The masterpiece by Morbid Angel. From my point of view, an album absolutely deserving of a 5. The slow and rhythmic parts are beautiful (those that, for me, ARE death metal) like "Bleesed Are The Sick/Leading The Rats," or the symphonic passage "Doomsday Celebration" with the scores entirely written by Azagthoth. @GASTA: listen to it, even if many years have passed, its beautiful figure still impresses me.

...other 3 news broadcasts... I mean, I don't understand, but NEWS broadcasts referring to StudioAperto and TG5? I mean, NEWS broadcasts like those entertainment programs filled with weather gossip interspersed with spots for Forza Italia? Just yesterday (I think it was on Channel 5) there was a morning program (I don't know which, it must have been around 11-12) in which the presenter, dressed in PDL style, handed the mic to the guy who conducts "political in-depth" programs on the SKY channel of Forza Italia (a channel that HAS a reason to exist; anyone who watches it knows it is biased, in fact I think it's called freedom TV or some crap like that). Well, this guy launches into a series of lame and ultra-partisan arguments to praise his god-Berlusconi, reading and commenting on newspaper headlines at will to show that the left shamelessly disparages those trying to do good for the country, etc. After that, the presenter in PDL-look style says (verbatim): "but since there is freedom of information, let's give the floor to a journalistic outlet." And who do they pass the mic to? The director of Libero...banana republic? But a bit of respect for bananas, damn it!

But damn it! Why do you always act so biased and speak poorly of the already targeted Presidentissimo Migliorissimo Berlusconi? The mass media is already 90% in the hands of the communists, who are everywhere in Italy, especially in newspapers, schools, universities, courts, public offices, tobacconists, sports bars, gas stations, junk dealers, and rental services for used prosecco corks. And what do you do on this heretical/revolutionary site? You speak poorly of the modest Berlusconi, who is so unfairly criticized in his role as “the best president of Italy ever,” and you encourage those who attack him with these videos without giving him the chance to defend himself with his meager television networks... there is truly no gratitude. But did you know that even in Japan they have learned to follow the events of Italian domestic politics? And they are even starting to learn Italian; for now, they know the word "puttane."

"his dirty job as a reviewer of remote (and sometimes a bit improbable) realities has always been done excellently"... THANKS Nosebleed for the compliment! It's true, many of the comments were yours (Dislexia, Ekidad, Republica Fortuna). As for the stoner-doom.it talk, well, the matter is long: from my point of view, I think many people see it as a reevaluation of a sound that seemed "outdated" and therefore it’s a nice old-surprise. Let me explain: I listen to a lot of rock from the '60s-'70s (The Who, Rolling Stones) but the bands (or at least the vast majority) that nowadays recreate the same lyrics and metrics as they were back then feel plastic to me; I don’t see originality in them. The same goes for many other genres: Thrash, punk (the real stuff, '77-'80, Stiff Little Fingers, Adicts, the early Clash). As for "modern" genres, while I enjoy listening to something, I can't get excited about either nu-metal or rock reinterpretations (Oasis, Coldplay) nor about genres that (if I still have a fond memory of the historic bands) have now become caricatures of themselves (grind, black metal). Stoner appeals to me because I hear sounds from decades ago, and the absence of that "glamour" or look that stirs so much talk—it might be my particular impression—but many semi-unknown bands making stoner music, if not exceptional, are at least pleasant, and I willingly listen to them. And if you don’t believe me, watch out... you're going to get the reviews of these almost unknown groups...

Exceptional record. One note though: "the English depressed it with nihilism and political engagement." While in America punk was a musical revolution, in England it was an aspect of a true social revolution that originated from the lower classes. Your definition seems quite misleading and historically inaccurate. Otherwise, great review, and I agree with VoodooMiles: NOW J WANNA SNIFF SOME GLUE.

@PIXIES77: Stoner pigs? Nice, I'll keep that in mind as a name if I create a fake account... @CASAMORTA: well, I'm glad that many appreciate the lesser-known proposals; I also enjoy browsing DeBaser in search of new or semi-unknown albums (at least to me). That said, I don't mean to criticize those who listen to or review more famous bands; personally, I still love listening to Motorhead or the magnificent Carcass, and I wouldn't hesitate to review them even if it's a duplicate (which in many cases is useful because it offers a different point of view). But I would fear writing a promotional review like many who write about their favorite group, praising them and elevating them to semi-gods. Better to get fewer comments but throw a new stone into the pond, and I think I've written more than one review with 1-2 comments and not even a vote... Chao, beautiful!

Well, a bit messy as a review, but you can feel the passion, plus it’s not an ultra-duplicate. On the album, a masterpiece of rock, I really love the drum passages in "Hey Joe," each one different, never repeated, even after listening thousands of times I still find them surprising.
