Maurizio Cattelan Tre bambini impiccati

Well, I don't feel I can give a rating to this work. It's as out of place as it is brilliant; if the author's intent was to shock and horrify, I think it succeeds. I've seen the Hitler bambino twice (at the Biennale in Venice and I don't remember where else), and it's facing the corner of the wall, almost without a visible face— that one was even more impactful. One thing must be said, though: did it really have to be placed right in the middle of road traffic in Milan?

And then the people who came around, half of them were always the same; they knew how to look for music, they knew how to talk, they asked questions, they showed interest. The fool in the Vasco t-shirt wouldn’t come in asking, "Do you have the latest from Christina Aguilera, the one that goes TA-TA TA-TATA...." because he heard it on the radio and doesn’t know either the title of the song or the album, and he’s not even sure it’s her because someone told him so; if it were up to this prototype of a fool, they could’ve told him it was Nina Hagen, and he’d believe it. KOSMOGABRI: every now and then I hear those kinds of requests that if I were the clerk, I would want to knock down a shelf out of frustration; people asking if there are tickets for the Motörhead concert and inquiring if there are any seats available...

@ROSA SPINA: I didn't accuse you of being bigoted at all, and I've read some interviews with characters like that too, racism, burned churches, etc.; my opinion? Those who make such statements are idiots. Another topic is the reason behind the extremization of certain issues, on that GEB responded well. Anyway, I was referring to the strictly musical discourse, every genre has its own landscape where there's everything.

Oh yes, JACK DANIEL'S, there may have been other years, but what I liked was that there was an atmosphere thick with music, and even better if there were used records. Now everything feels more plastic, I don’t even know how to explain it, neater, less ā€œtypical.ā€ @KOSMOGABRI: it suits him well!

Kosmo, how long ago did you sell records? But all the record stores that existed 10 years ago and are now gone, did they close more because of big distribution, 'daunnloadd', or what? For heaven's sake, there are still some around, but now most of them look more like post offices, selling books, sweatshirts, figurines, and various knick-knacks. I liked the small ones that only sold vinyl, where they would let you listen to the record and there were always a maximum of 5 people inside.

Beautiful review. For the album, I'll make some space and maybe see if it fits.

@ ROSA SPINA: considering that I am not at all a frequent listener of black metal and that there are people on this site much more knowledgeable about the subject, I think that the majority of fans of this genre appreciate the music more than the lyrics, which are often hard to understand and maybe written in Finnish. Should we ban black metal for its satanic themes (satanism being an overused term, most often the result of a cliché to sell an image)? And what about the metal of Motley Crue and similar bands with their sexist and misogynistic themes? And the punk of the '70s with its subversive and destabilizing invectives? And the not-so-veiled references to drugs in stoner and psychedelia? The violent messages of HC? We can't get out of this. I repeat: if black metal didn't exist, I would perhaps lose about 5% of the music I listen to, but when I put on a CD by Marduk or Dimmu Borgir, I don’t hear anything harmful or propaganda-like, but a musical genre that can be enjoyable or utterly disgusting, but that's not up for debate.

Okay, resolved: "Gate III: Devils from the Outer Dark," I had it in another folder. Am I wrong or did they release something after this as well?

Definitely a good album, more Kanhate than Sunn O))) especially for the rhythms. Bea recenZion, but excuse me, 4 tracks? I have it with 3: "Ritus"-"Subterraen"-"Dragged To The Roots."

Non-sense, absurd sound, music totally devoid of musical patterns... definitely worth a listen. Bea strampalada review.
