The one and unbeatable is Savickas's regarding the genesis, that's why it's in my recommendations. Among the two you pointed out, however, I prefer the one by Punisher, more "impactful."

a recycled idea a million times by now. If I had done it, there’s no way they would’ve published it. Here, the only ones who can do such things are wreckers and some Korn fake. The rest is just carbon copy, I’m sorry.

I have "River of Dreams" by Billy Joel, which I quite like, and then I should have some old vinyls lying around somewhere... in the pop genre, I think he was one of the best.

"they have nothing to do with hendrix / uli roth often and willingly indulges in plagiarism (so naturally hendrix is felt, I might add)" well, I will change my opinion quickly, but you change yours in the same post! :D

Fly to the rainbow, exactly; after all, Uli Roth is practically a disciple of Jimi. But Lonesome Crow? Shall we give it a little revisit? You'll hear a bit (just a tiny bit) of Sabbath and also Hendrix, because of Schenker's solos. I agree with the Uriah Heep discussion.

@there: you haven’t even listened to this stuff, and that's why you talk about the plagiarism of "little wing" referring to the subsequent album (which makes me wonder in which song you hear this supposed imitation). Regarding this album, the Sabbath influence is there and you can feel it, especially in the title track; as for the post 16, I didn’t get it: you’re mentioning UFO, Thin Lizzy, Rainbow (?!)... what on earth do they have to do with Sabbath? you tell me...

excellent review by maestro splinter, always at ease with prog-metal records; I recommend that in June, the first review of the new Dream Theater album must be yours!
