@ Yan: the lyrics are wonderful but the music doesn't just complement them. It's absolutely the star and captivating. Listen to it if you can, you'll be amazed.

I recommend the triad of the roaring years: "But it's not a disease; Zombies of the world unite and Baby Bottle" besides this. Always great Gianfranco!

Album acquired today. So congratulations to the reviewer, but I can't add anything. I share the comments of many: Ferretti is a valuable person and his personal life journey is nonetheless indicative of an inner search that most of us can only dream of. One might not agree with the destination, but the journey has been important. Regards.

Who has millions of fans and offers something completely new and different compels the people who listen to him to grow in their tastes, to set new challenges for themselves, to try to understand something new and to push their musical knowledge further. It is much more useful and has a much greater impact than being incredibly talented but known by just 10 people drunk on their own culture.

I arrive late, I know. However, Battisti made a courageous choice, very similar to the one Gaber made fifteen years before him. Characters well-known by everyone (from the grandmother to the little grandson, from the university professor to the factory worker on the assembly line) decided that what they had achieved for themselves was not enough. That's all there is to it. Cloning oneself (with a gradual, inevitable decline in inspiration) until the end of one’s days is the saddest thing an artist can do. This choice, in my humble opinion, comes even before assessing the work itself. Which, in my very modest opinion, is exceptional.

Good job, Ustmamo. I bought everything from them when it was released, except for the last one when my musical interests in that genre had waned a bit. The first one is nice, albeit a bit raw, but for me, the best is the second one filled with irresistible 'tunes' (Tannomai, Acant, Annegherò nel dolo, Killer ghenga radiostampa, etc.). Ust (the third) is the most elegant, the cover made for Materiali Resistenti (siamo i ribelli della montagna) is a great success, and the other covers are very beautiful too, with a special mention for Piano Con L'affetto, perhaps their best piece. I found the fourth album a bit lacking in ideas. Nevertheless, they are one of the most important bands of 'rock' in Italy in the nineties.

@ Holdsworth: sorry, what do you mean by 'unoccupy the streets from dreams'? There, in 'nightmare number zero,' that phrase which gives the title to the album is mentioned along with Ulrike Meinhof. That's it. The rest deals with something else.

To read all the comments up to now, one must have a patience that even Ferretti in his hermitage of Cerreto Alpi would envy... Anyway: good review; in my opinion, this album is the worst by CCCP due to the overly polished sounds that weaken several tracks (but it still deserves a 4-star rating). A few words on the 'ideological' discussion: anyone can make music from right to left. Perhaps on the right, it's a bit more difficult because those on that side are either focused on building a career or hitting someone. Am I being harsh? I don't care!
P.S. I've been following CCCP and so on since forever, and I too was astonished by Ferretti's papal turn. However, I had the chance to see him live last year, and he moved me as much as ever, if not more. He's still a giant. This is to say that when you have talent, you have talent regardless.

sorry for the sleight of hand errors...
