Well, the "street" vibe and less epic of Di anno doesn’t bother me at all, and even Killers, obviously IMHO, still has some punk streaks within it. Or maybe it’s just the presence of Di anno. I don’t know. In fact, I’m going to listen to it again... but do I still have it? ;) As for the rest, you know a lot, I agree on everything. Always and anyway less pompous than others...

You perfectly captured the meaning of my "raising the bar": indeed, today Killers certainly can't be considered a "hard" album, but back then, if I may say, it was "kicking the asses of sparrows". However, Killers doesn't count; they were still a bit punk at the time. Or not? ;)

Ok, all clear. I would say that I agree. A small curiosity: you say that we can now define them as rock (I've already mentioned that I basically agree), but is this more because metal is now "ahead of them" (the "bar" has been raised) or is it really a change in their sound?
I ask you this especially because I don't really have a clear idea of what their current sound is... I listened very little since The X Factor, inversely proportional to how much I have instead "overindulged" in their earlier material...
P.S. I don't know Bach, but certainly Wagner, at least that's what the Manowar tell me ;)

just a little thing: queen are liked by teenagers... hell no, but the beatles were attended by the intelligence of the then soviet union! we’re all good at shoveling shit on the queen: too bad no one does it with really valid arguments from a musical standpoint.
If we then say that they’re not a great band because individually they weren’t the best as instrumentalists, then we all agree... I guess we’re being a bit superficial, huh?
If we want to say something that might resemble the truth a bit more, we can say that, for their own reasons, they never delved into any "particular style." Good? Bad? Right? Wrong? Who knows: sometimes they "followed" the trends of the moment, at other times they imposed themselves and set "trends," both outside and within the musical staff.
For instance, in the early '80s they produced a lot of fluff, too bad that in those years fluff was all the rage... with this, I don’t want to justify them, indeed, hot space remains a weak album, but I just want to say that it’s not fair to compare hot space to ziggy stardust rather than to let's dance... and this holds true for the duke as well as for many other artists.
It's just that we often fail to have a "historical" view of things, we don’t place facts and songs in their context and historical moment. We take music and songs as absolute entities, while in fact, they are immersed in a context that must be taken into account.
hello everyone, beautiful and ugly...

Well, come on Captain, if they’re not HM, Iron... I mean, they have represented in the imagination the 'HM', at least until Fear of the Dark. That they are not HM today is just as hard for me to believe: to define them now, the albums they’ve released or the current setlists of their concerts matter more.

DS... here you go, keep reading the comics on meta - linkana, they fit your brain perfectly... I don't think it's appropriate for you to educate us on the real artistic and musical abilities of the 4 queens, given your limited intellectual and dialectical skills... of course, to compare them to blasco takes a courage inversely proportional to the brain... from which media would they have been pumped up, I’m sure everyone would love to know, seeing as BoRahp didn’t want it to be played on the radio at all... and the critics have always slaughtered them.
But anyway, if you want to act all smart, then go ahead and chatter away, hoping that some "big shot" on the site will be pleased with you...

Dear Hboy, you’re hitting an open door! Far be it from me to defend anyone you’ve mentioned, quite the opposite… “freak show” was referring to his distant and presumptuous way of relating to others, a clear indication of an unrestrained need for attention. On this, you’ll have to agree with me.

Bob, why is the opposite not true? Why is the average Italian not what they are because of over 100 years of politics done a certain way? I think that makes more sense. "If those in government do whatever the hell they want, why should I respect the rules?" It seems more logical to me, and maybe it takes away the stomach ache...

Congratulations Bubi! First, you launch into a certain way of doing politics, and then, quietly and subtly, you come out declaring that you vote for SVP, as if it were a mark of merit... but come on, you’re even worse than that circus phenomenon alessioiride...
