Elvenking Two Tragedy Poets... And A Caravan Of Weird Figures
Voto:
I saw them once, in 2005, at a small metal festival in Pordenone where the headliners were Ensoph (yeah! legendary...). Back then, I liked them too; I even bought "Wyrd," but then I got tired of them as I moved on to other types of sounds. I haven't listened to the album in question, unlike the others except for "Wyrd," but maybe I'll think about it... PS: the singer's nickname is Damnagoras ;-)

Zi zi, bella bella... :) Dante rules! XD I don't know the album and the band, I have some doubts that I might like them, but undoubtedly the concept is original.

I haven't listened to the album yet, but I really liked "Maaäet." I'll take care of it...

I'm sorry, but I didn't really like the review. The album: essential for doom and metal as a whole, "The Cry Of Mankind" is pure aching sadness. Praise to My Dying Bride...

When I first caught a glimpse of their video by accident on MTV (a channel I never watch, I can barely manage to watch television), I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. They are ridiculous beyond any possible imagination; the "keyboardist," in my opinion, is the pinnacle (or the acne?!?) of ridiculousness and makes me want to finish him off with a shovel... along with his friend Dario. Then, when I think about the drummer who used to play in a brutal death metal band, I wonder what got into his head (hunger for success, obviously... but how sad!). But why do teenagers now listen to this damned shit, consider it cool, and even attribute some meaning to it (albeit vague)? These guys aren’t kids anymore; they’ve been over 20 for a while! Outrageous...

To preface, I no longer listen to Nightwish (and many other bands) practically at all, as I have recently shifted to a different type of metal, much more niche. Nevertheless, I really liked this album back in the day. I still consider it a great album, even though it’s no longer part of my usual playlists, but I remember the emotions it evoked in me. For this reason, I give it a 4 (I don't feel like giving it a 5). I disagree on several points, such as Marco's voice or the judgment on "Nemo"; despite that, it's well-written. I do agree on the new formation: a pathetic imitation with an incompetent and unbearable singer. Personal opinion. Cheers!
Katatonia Viva Emptiness

Of course, very beautiful. Perhaps more "philosophical" than "musical," but that's fine. Of Katatonia, I prefer "Discouraged Ones" and "The Great Cold Distance," although some tracks from this "Viva Emptiness" are real gems, "Evidence" above all.
