Interpol Turn on the Bright Lights

Oh, for me it’s a 5. Their best...

On that observation about extreme metal (which feels a bit like a gratuitous jab), I don't entirely agree. There are bands that are truly insane vocally. I could mention Anaal Nathrakh and - in the more extreme aspects - Ensoph (the ones that came to mind on the spot). Great review (but don't you ever do a review with a rating of 3-4? ;-) )
Ain Soph Kshatriya
Voto:
Although much of the review focuses solely on the conceptual aspect - which I recognize as central to a proposal like this - the reading is pleasant and interesting (as it always is, after all). The backdrop against which these Ain Soph are set attracts me, but musically I have some "fear" of approaching it (also because I'm not used to similar sounds)... So you say this is more accessible then?

Here it is, the promised review on the Japanische... When I move past the indie/new wave phase, I’ll give it a listen to see if it’s my thing :)
Interpol Interpol EP

Um, the record is called "Precipitate EP." "Interpol EP" is another, subsequent one. This is the first official release. Check their website to believe it :P

@CASAMORTA: yes yes, I was reading it now :) A thousand thanks... PS: have you heard the new song by Katatonia, "Forsaker"? I honestly don’t know what to think. The first few seconds sound like Meshuggah!
