THE REVIEW

An awkward pachyderm. Yes, that's how you can describe the sounds that avalanche over us as we begin listening to the debut of Mammoth Mammoth, released in 2008.

Aussies from Melbourne, this quintet offers a robust and pleasantly disjointed stoner in some passages.

The powerful opener "Another Drink" and the fast "Slacker" are the best tracks of this EP in my opinion, even though none of the songs are fillers and they all manage to be very enjoyable with ease.

5 tracks in which stoner increasingly gives way to hard rock, especially in the structure of the pieces ("The Bad Oil" and "Let's Roll") and in the faster guitar riffs (the already mentioned "Slacker"), a nice blend of two genres to which the sole of your shoe will not withstand and will rhythmically lift off the ground.

In conclusion, an unlikely backward message closes this EP, distributed in digipack in only 666 copies...

... ah yes: ZOT!
