Exactly, I don’t deny Drake’s qualities even though I preferred others in his genre.

motivating a personal taste is never easy, also because one risks diminishing its artistic value (if there is any...) it simply doesn’t move me, but it doesn’t bore me either.

If I said that apart from "Fruit tree," it has never excited me, would you hit me?

Yes, the word genius was missing from the "cake," but do you listen to music with your ears or read books with your ears?? I asked out of curiosity which of the boppers from the '40s showed the influence of Monk, and the true "genius" of muitosaudosismo responds by quoting (again) Wikipedia (this time in English and, well... he does it with style). Okay, I will respond: there is no musical trace of Monk's influence in any boppers from the '40s, from Charlie Parker (the one who truly taught others) to J.J. Johnson—all this not to undermine his value, quite the opposite, but simply because our guy was already "ahead" compared to those "in front." His music was already projected toward the next decade. Listen to the records before talking.
Andrew Hill Point Of Departure

I have always loved Andrew Hill. From the Blue Note lab, the composer and pianist churned out six truly exciting albums from '62 to '65, in which, in my opinion, he reached his peak with "Compulsion."

To say that it has influenced without tangible musical "proof" seems to me as much as reading a good music book just published... as far as bossa is concerned, it was well beyond just the simple batida, but a combination of Brazilian folk music, jazz, and even Western classical music, all masterfully blended by Mr. Jobim. Good night.

The bossa was discovered by João Gilberto in a friend's apartment (but where will he read this news...) Bossa started with "Chega de Saudade" composed by Jobim-Morales; this is history. Out of curiosity, could you name which of the boppers and on which album or recording you would hear Monk's influence?
