Stryper Soldiers Under Command

Great album straddling hard rock and heavy metal, typically from the eighties, which is the best year for the genre! Their fervent Christianity unfortunately often makes us forget that they really knew how to play.

Very beautiful (and the review is lovely too). I saw it in the cinema, and I remember that for the first twenty minutes I felt, among other things, completely intoxicated by the stunning landscapes in which the film takes place. One note, if possible, to Ezekiel: apart from the fact that homosexuality among the Greeks was a common practice even in the most prosperous periods (and among the Romans it was perhaps fashionable precisely because the Greeks practiced it, who were the cultural reference point), I recently heard a group of historians who researched the average daily working hours; the interesting thing is that working hours have expanded since the industrial revolution. Compared to a modern worker (working eight to ten hours a day), a Renaissance man worked half as much, and a medieval man even less (people only worked during daylight hours, there were numerous dead times, and there were countless religious festivals, etc. etc.). Homosexuality, more or less explicit, has always been widespread in every era and almost everywhere... I don’t know: I don’t quite understand why you chose those arguments to support your positions.

I keep missing out on great concerts. It’s time to start getting informed (Franci: recycle the bottles - both plastic and glass - what a waste!)

Finally!!! I was waiting for them on De-Baser! A very nice proposal, they are truly a rare case in Italy. Certain sounds haven't aged very well, I love the two subsequent albums more, but if any band from today's Italian scene recorded "Do you love me," it would be hailed as something brilliant. Well done (and good job)!

For King, a really great album of full maturity, with new atmospheres and a nice concept (less predictable than usual).

The impression is that in the end, in Milan, everyone always says the same things and no one really knows a damn thing. I had the pleasure of hearing and seeing them live. Engaging, but ultimately they left me little.
Tony Kaye American History X

The film is very popular among kids aged sixteen to eighteen, making it almost a cult object, one in which they identify and fully understand its moral. Yet, they still greet each other with the fascist salute. There seems to be a bit too much schizophrenia around. By the way: I'm still wondering if the director of this film is the same Tony Kaye, the first keyboardist of Yes ;-)
Mario Monicelli Il Marchese del Grillo

Is a light film automatically a trivial movie? I’m reminded of the scene with the Marquis and the Frenchman in the decrepit country villa; the Frenchman takes aim at the backwardness, illogicality, and superstitions of the Papal State, but in front of the witch-girl who, without batting an eye, picks up, bites, and cradles the scalding coins, he makes the necessary protective gestures out of fear that, as she has threatened, "if they dry up, it’ll be the balls.ā€ Here is a light and witty snapshot of the discrepancy between Enlightenment and ancestral fears. The trivial movies would rather be those with Alvaro Vitali, even though today it’s very trendy to reassess and praise them.

Will genre films make a comeback in Italy? In the long run, it's tiring to have to be nostalgic at all costs.
