New Trolls Searching For A Land

@Fedezan76: a clarification. It's not the album that I consider one of the most beautiful things in Italian rock, but the single song "A Land to Live, A Land to Die."

Very strange album, where truly beautiful things alternate with real messes, starting from the fake live. "A Land to Live, a Land to Die" is, however, one of the most beautiful things ever recorded in the context of Italian rock. As for the review, I’m not very fond of the comparison with contemporary Italian bands. At least until UT, New Trolls were primarily a hard rock band, with a way of expressing themselves and needs quite different from symphonic progressive (the latter was strongly pursued by De Scalzi, and the contrast between the two souls of the band - evident in this album - will later lead to the troubled history we all know).

Absolutely true. A great book by an author who could afford to publish one book out of five of those he writes - and they would all be masterpieces or nearly so (forgive me this thought, but I haven't yet forgiven him for how he concluded the Dark Tower saga).

Cacciucco... (imagine me in the same position as Homer Simpson when he's thinking about donuts). One thing I keep wondering is: with so much goodness out there, what is cinema waiting for to give us something interesting?

I've always wondered what kind of muscles the drummer must have to hold a straight 4/4 in pure disco style for almost the entire duration of the record! Anyway, it's true: there are many lovely moments (and also some parts that today sound divinely kitsch, especially in certain synth effects). Great proposal!

I have always been thrilled by the freedom and unpredictability of this album. Okay, the instrumentals are certainly not extraordinary, but the riffs are stunning (the one in "Supernaut" was at the time deemed by Frank Zappa to be the most beautiful in rock), the time changes exquisite, and the endings of "Wheels of Confusion" and "Under the Sun" pure headbanging.
Dario Argento Il Cartaio

I can't even rate the film. What perplexes me even more is that actors who are usually not too bad in other films perform worse than at a middle school play. I just can't explain it. On the other hand, I've noticed that certain critics have begun to cast shadows over all of Argento’s work, as if to say, "Oh, we already knew he wasn't capable," while the quality of the works mentioned in this review shouldn't even be up for discussion.

I'm glad to see the entrance of House... maybe the album is a bit more structured, but I actually like it even more than "Doremi..." (while my favorite remains "In Search of Space"). And then... WHAT A COVER!!! I WANT COVERS LIKE THEY USED TO MAKE BACK THEN!!!

The review leaves me a bit puzzled, especially because when I listen to the four movements of Zeit, it feels as if the entire universe is passing through me, and not just the machines, but humanity itself seems so distant.

When I saw him, I found myself thinking that certain scenes (like: a fifteen-minute long take on flooded floors) were even exhausting. Yet "Stalker" is one of the films that has left me with the most memories and profound impressions. A beautiful mystery!
