Gary Moore Dark Days In Paradise

I don't know this record, but it needs to be talked about. Is it possible that all those like him have passed in vain? Will the times return when a guitar solo makes us dream and travel?
King Diamond Abigail II: The Revenge
Voto:
If I had been King Diamond (my idol during adolescence), I wouldn’t have touched a sequel to Abigail. I know that Abigail II is a much-loved album, but I’ve never really been able to appreciate it. Especially when I think of the gem that would have followed it, more original, more heartfelt, more unpredictable.

I let it simmer for a while, and in the end, I have to say I really like it. They haven't always been my cup of tea, but this album intrigues me and keeps me company quite well. Rather, while reading other reviews around (outside of this site), I got bored with the game of uncovering references to other bands, which often turn out to be trivial: everyone writes that "Attonito" opens like Black Sabbath for the stoner riff (thanks, and then why not mention Blue Cheer or Jimi Hendrix?), that "La Volta" is the modern Italian equivalent of "On the Run" by Pink Floyd - this one actually reminds me more of certain Black Sabbath instrumentals like E5150, etc. I prefer to quietly enjoy a wonderfully inspired album (this comment, of course, does not apply to this review which, besides being to my liking, was also the very first one I read about this work).

I've heard that they've recently reformed with Anne Boleyn (the one from Hellion) on vocals. Does anyone know if that's true?

But then he's here too! Great review. This album is so different from what comes right after that I wouldn't know what score to give it (even though I really like it, quite a bit). "Ortenthian Street" remains one of my favorite tracks by the band.

Even though I know "Unstoppable Force" by heart, I've never listened to this one. I remember them as being very dynamic. I reiterate: what nostalgia!

Amazing! Even though the only songs I can keep up with are those by Caifa...

I don't mind the review; I find that it comes just in time to counter a certain revisionism.
Paul Chain Violet Art Of Improvisation

A very nice review of a work I haven’t listened to in a long time. I know that back then I partly liked it, and partly found it a bit self-indulgent, but I should give it another listen. Of course, the good Paul Chain deserves nothing but admiration (a necessary aside: when I first saw the video for "A Dying God..." by the then reunited Celtic Frost, at the first image of Martin E. Ain in priestly garb, I seriously thought it was Paul!).

The final joke from Farah is worth the ticket price by itself, and it represents an exquisite key to interpretation. I’d love to see him in a film with the Legnanesi, perhaps trying to woo Mabilia...
