Murakami Haruki L'arte di correre
Voto:
Well, as you say, running is very nice and rewarding; it has even been so for a lazy person like me. Once I got into the rhythm (and what a terrible feeling it becomes to "skip" a workout in that case! :D), I also find it completely natural and not harmful to enter a bit into the mindset of "a challenge with oneself and the world." Of course, one must be careful not to become slaves to it and slide into the pathological. Probably what saves me from this is the fact that, inevitably, after a while I end up getting bored and looking for other things to do, so I never manage to develop fixations, at least not for long ^^.

nice cover, by the way it’s really the right season for this kind of listening ^^
Broken Social Scene You Forgot It In People
Voto:
truly a great album, a wonderful mix of alternative music, without neglecting melody
Satoshi Kon Paprika

Uhm, I had only heard about this in relation to Tokyo Godfathers, which I still need to watch, but at this point I’ll also note this and Agent Paranoia... Since we're at it, do you have any other nice anime/authors to recommend? Obviously, I already know Myazaki and the two Ghost in the Shell.

zizi, really pleasant and not bad at all... it reminds me of a more pop version of amos and for once, I think I prefer the "nice" variant.

A friend played this album for me a few years ago, who had gotten really into it, and I didn't dislike it at all; it was my first "serious" approach to hip hop, showing me that there was a whole world full of crossovers waiting to be explored... they're not bad live either.
Darren Aronofsky Il Cigno Nero
Voto:
Well, it doesn't really suck, but it's absolutely overhyped... it broke into the mainstream, where to the average viewer it might seem revolutionary, but it's just a harmless little movie, as watchable as it is.
Stoned Jesus First Communion

good hell, as for me with stoner I believe I’m all set with the sacred triad kyuss+monster magnet+sleep, occasionally alternating with electric wizard, fu manchu, and colour haze.
Nicolas Winding Refn Pusher 2
Voto:
I still miss the Pusher saga, but I really enjoyed his last three films; I will definitely delve into those as well! He’s one of the few I know capable of making films that entertain (well, maybe given the violence and degradation shown in his films, "entertain" isn't the most fitting term, but you get what I mean) without being clichéd.
