Anyway, a technical question I've never understood (since I'm generally not much of an expert): what are exactly the characteristics that distinguish a hardcore piece from a thrash metal one? It seems to me that they share at least some common ground.

I have Rock for Light by them, but I have to admit it has never really grabbed me... Anyway, rock has primarily been a "white" movement, if we want to put it that way, though the blues foundations stem from black origins, that's another story. Or all the electronic experimenters like Vangelis, Schulze, Stockhausen...

I've always liked Kid A a little less compared to their other albums; my favorite is Amnesiac, followed by Ok Computer. I haven't listened to this one yet, but given the almost unanimously negative comments, I have a strong feeling I won't.

a bit lengthy but a good review! VDGG are one of my favorite prog (and not only) bands, but honestly, I stopped at their discography with The Quiet Zone and I think for now I'll make do with that; there are still so many of those bands I need to discover and delve into...
