Happy weekend to all, beautiful and ugly. To anyone who wants to insult/praise/ignore me, I’ll be available on Monday for any responses, but also not. On Saturdays and Sundays, I refrain from writing nonsense.

And since I got 200 on my first review, I'll take a nice 5 Ole too!!!
What the hell.

hahahah beautiful... no, there is more construction and more players participate in the action when in possession of the ball. We are masters when the other team has the ball. And since in Italy we have an impressive pool of players, it's more likely that a phenomenon will emerge who can help win the match up front. Generalizing, these are Italian characteristics when it comes to football. Just as other countries have different qualities of nature and temperament that can be seen both on and off the football fields.

Tatticism is one thing, choral organization is another. In fact, the Dutch mock us as defensive, catenaccio-minded, the ultimate expression of non-football. Little know-it-all... I don't think you know that much about football ;))

And Italy has NEVER won thanks to a scientific style of play organization like the Netherlands in '74/'78 (the orange clockwork) or the Dynamo Kyiv of Lobanovski. Never in any team sport. Sport is also, I reiterate, an expression of the culture of the people from which it is rooted.
Jim ... count on me!!!

The concept, however, is that in rugby you will never win thanks to just one player (or almost... bear with me on the simplification), whereas in football, you absolutely can. It has happened (notably in Mexico '86), and it will happen again. A weaker team can win thanks to the play of a standout player. And indeed, in football, surprises are much more likely. How can one deny such a thing?

Well, know-it-all, we can discuss this but I don’t think you can dismiss my theses as nonsense. They’re not that unfounded. We’re twelfth in the ranking of a sport that’s popular only in former Commonwealth countries and a few others. We suck. It’s popular in Italy but it's a niche reality and "strong" in just a few geographical areas of the peninsula. In short... I really don’t believe my arguments lack serious foundations.

If it’s so popular, why have we ALWAYS had a national team (which is an expression of the movement) that sucks? Why don’t I see children playing or rugby fields around Italy???

Smarty, are you trying to tell me that rugby has more registered players than volleyball and basketball or swimming or tennis??? Are you sure??? For me, it’s rhetoric, because for the other 200 sports where nothing happens in the stands, they don’t always talk about it this much. Then I admit that if so many people have misunderstood me, I must have made some mistake; the tone must have been a bit too provocative.
