Oh Mikailichenko, Zavarov, Kolyvanov, Aleinikov... I think they had adaptation issues.

It's interesting to note how two of the strongest and most "revolutionary" national teams ever, and I'm talking about the Netherlands and Hungary, have never won a World Cup. A crime in football terms.

A learned and pleasurable review. An interesting read. It's a shame that Russia (or the USSR) has never shone according to its enormous potential in World Cup editions. I remember the strong team of '82 but also that of '86 (with the Dinamo Kiev block) which was no joke. They never made it far at the national level, and it was a pity. And let's not forget Salenko's record in Russia - Cameroon at USA '94. Such a disappointment this year with the elimination. Unexpected, and Hiddink was, for me, a guarantee; a real shame because at the Europeans they showed glimpses (again intermittent, it seems to be their true limit) of supersonic football. Moreover, I could see Guus well on the beloved Inter bench.

On trust. But where the hell do you find this stuff?

Analysis that I fully agree with. I also liked the first one, but this one, despite the change in lineup, has every appearance of being a (pleasant as it is) photocopy of it. Pleasant but dismissible. 2.5 rounded up to 3 it is.

Tom Yorke should make them pay dearly for the cover of "Creep." If only that were the only wrongdoing...

JARKONKING, in the collective imagination (and for Father Antonio) the eternal father is up high. But as far as I'm concerned, he could be anywhere else or even not exist at all. It seemed like a good image when talking about profanity directed at a deity, that's all.

I confess I received a Catholic education and even served as an altar boy, MARIAELENA. It's one of the secrets of my torrid past. However, while I still find some principles of Catholicism valid for my life (which is not the only repository of values), I have distanced myself from attending ecclesiastical places. I am too repulsed by the colossal contradictions that put the Church in contrast to the evangelical message it should embody and exemplify. But that's a long discourse, and this does not seem to me the right venue.

Yes, DARKEVE, you're right. But blasphemy is particularly loathsome. I wouldn't put it on the same level, you see. If you censor insults among us, then the site will be shut down, hehehe... It bothers me a lot, even though I can't call myself a believer; it's just a really ugly thing, regardless of which deity is the recipient.

Regarding blasphemy, a brother I know used to say, "If you spit into the sky above your heads, where will the spit fall?" Regardless of one's beliefs, I think it is a gratuitous and heavy lack of respect.
