Do you remember that kind of album called "Invisible Touch"? Well, that stuff is worthy of the worst Collins solo work.

@Skassa (by the way, the nickname has a somewhat Kyrgyz vibe), it's true that Many Too Many is a "pop"-oriented song and that it's quite sentimental, but it's really well made and Phil sings like a god in it. A good example of a song that "oozes syrup" could be, for instance, that monstrosity of In Too Deep (one of the absolutely worst).

And then about them becoming has-beens... it seems a bit exaggerated. I think you also know that in the next album there are tracks like Undertow, Burning Rope, and Many Too Many, and that Duke also features great songs (Duchess, Duke's Travels/Duke's End just to name a few).
