MAJESTIC, sublime, with an almost mystical beauty, Josh T. Pearson recites his philosophical rants and when his voice takes flight, it feels like listening to an unearthly and spiritual Jeff Buckley... the walls of guitars and reverbs do the rest. Among the most beautiful and emotional albums of the past decade, for me. Too bad they never followed it up. Or maybe it’s better that way, a unique, unrepeatable album. Underrated. Their misfortune was also that of releasing it during the full boom of crap like Strokes, Libertines, and the trendy crowd. Josh's solo album from a couple of years ago, on the other hand, I found to be unbearably heavy, as fascinating as it might be... but it’s too much, too heavy. In a bad way.

Cute and enjoyable record with its folk-rock/post-hippie/Stones-Beatle s revivalism, etc. But someone should have told Newcombe that he wasn't a genius and wasn't inventing anything revolutionary with these albums, as he, a prey to too many amphetamines, acid, and the like, believed he was a revolutionary of Rn'R and that he was living in 1966. That said, for me, the great albums of Anton & co. are the ones less anchored to folk revival, namely "Methodrone," "My Bloody Underground," "Who Killed Sgt. Pepper's?" and, even though it's in the folk-revivalist realm, "Give It Back" was very beautiful.

I haven't changed my mind at all here. A record that I loved, I love, and will always love. Even though in the previous comment, from a few years ago, I was vague. To this and "Tab," I add that very sour amphetamine concoction from the first self-titled EP, which for me is a blast.

The "cleaned up" and more subdued silaslang of the previous comment from a few years ago hasn't changed its mind. In fact, the album has been gathering dust since shortly after my previous comment on this review.

Not a huge group, dippiùù. This is cool. The TOP of the TOP of the apotheosis will come with the mammoth "It's Me God". It's no coincidence that I have the cover as my avatar.

But who the hell is that on the far right in the abominable cover, nek? Apart from nek, seeing the word "Punk" and Blink 182 (or Green Gay and whoever..) so close together has always twisted my gut anyway...
