Various Artists Eurovision Song Contest - Moscow 2009

@Bodhisattva: speaking for myself, I know the Eurovision and I speak from experience. That’s exactly why I find it an event of commendable European spirit and terrible musical taste. Sanremo is, I repeat, a thousand times better.

@Lupin: thanks for your response. I really like waltz music, but I don't like this theme song, not only because I find it a bit dull, but also because (as mentioned) it is very far from the cartoon. I've always had my own idea about the genesis of the song: all they knew when they purchased the cartoon was that it was about a gentleman thief of French origin, so they did 2+2 and commissioned a courteous waltz with lyrics that are (you have to admit) inconsistent with the cartoon but consistent with the minimal definition of "a gentleman thief of French origin." The same goes or almost for "Lady Oscar" by the Cavalieri del Re. Oh, and I am from the '80s, so I guess I have a completely different sensitivity, who knows... As for theme songs that became “increasingly trendy and fashionable little songs”… NO, not here, I'm sorry. Some '90s theme songs are truly worthy pieces: "Il mistero della pietra azzurra" is a great song, "Cantiamo insieme" would move even a rock, "È quasi magia Johnny" is really smart (and consistent), and the "Sailor Moon" cycle contains amazing songs. All according to my perspective, of course.

@Lupin: the review is very funny, but if there are two words I detest, they are "particular" and "normal," because (excluding specific cases) they mean absolutely nothing. If this song is "particular," then my cup that I drink milk from in the morning is also particular. ••• @Roby86: I’m also a child of the '80s and I consider "Lupin, the Irrepressible Lupin" to be infinitely superior to this sort of little waltz for dance halls. De gustibus, of course, but I believe that this song by the Orchestra Castellina-Pasi is TOTALLY OUT OF CONTEXT; the same can be said for another theme song loved by the '70s generation, namely "Lady Oscar" by the Cavalieri del Re, a lovely minuet completely distant from the drama of the cartoon. This is why I prefer, by a long, long shot, the themes used by Media$et (which indeed is only redeemed by the themes and the sweet Cristina D'Avena).

The Eurofestival is a competition of absolute musical dreariness. I mean: the atmosphere of the League of Nations is so uplifting, but on an artistic level, we’re below zero; the worst Sanremo Festival is still better than the best Eurofestival. If we really have to find a cheerful media show that unites Eutopa, why don’t we resurrect the wonderfully amazing Jeux Sans Frontières??? Nostalgia canaglia.
Daniele Luttazzi Decameron: poltica, sesso, religione e morte (2007)
Voto:
Good review and excellent rated. In my opinion, Luttazzi is a genius and "Decameron" was simply an amazing program, overflowing with intelligence for as long as it lasted. It's absurd that in Italy we cannot allow freedom of speech. Then Silvio says it's not true that Italy is a partially free country... liar and reckless.

@Defender1: you are absolutely right, I realize that, in fact, in the first draft of the review, I added an initial note in which I asked for the reader's forgiveness in advance for the verbosity of the review, justifying myself with the importance of the subject matter. I should have left it.
Carmen Consoli Mediamente isterica Deluxe Edition
Voto:
Of all Carmen Consoli's discography, this album is undoubtedly the best artistic achievement and the worst commercial result. Regardless of personal taste one might have for the certainly atypical voice of the singer, it is truly an excellent work with exceptional lyrics and wonderful music. In the future, we will remember it as one of the best records of the '90s, not just in the Italian market. I am very happy about this new edition (which I will certainly buy as soon as possible); Consoli shows that she cares more about her fans than about mainstream success.

I'm shocked. I wanted to give a 2-star rating to the review instead of a 1 just because you can speak Italian, but then I realized that this is WAY too horrible.

@the green manalishi: you're right, I don't know how I messed that up; besides, I'm a bit of a perfectionist who always notices these things. To the editors listening: could you change XVI to XVIII? Thanks!
Johann Sebastian Bach Brandeburg Concertos

Congratulations on the review, very well written. Describing the Brandenburg Concertos frankly makes little sense; better people than us have tried without fully succeeding in the endeavor, so I fully appreciate your choice to recommend a CD rather than rush into descriptions doomed from the start (and not because you aren't worthy or capable of writing them, but because we are, indeed, in the realm of the hyperuranic).
