Francois Truffaut Vivement Dimanche! - Finalmente Domenica!

Here’s Il_Paolo, instead I’m posting a comment on Truffaut and not on Califano. I really like your writing style, at times truly sweet. It’s clear that you have an extraordinary sensitivity, which allows you to highlight details (like the one about the kids playing with the camera lens) that escape most people; I, for instance, do not and will never have your talent in concentrating so many observations into a review, and like me, perhaps many users of DeBaser. However, very often the material you discuss is truly subpar, bordering on pornography; I mean “Acapulco prima spiaggia a sinistra” is and will remain a bad movie, regardless of your otherwise acceptable considerations. If you wrote about works that are a bit more "highbrow," you would truly be unreachable for many here. Best regards, with esteem, and I hope this review is the first of a long series.
Mike Stern Upside Downside

I give you a 5 instead, despite the obvious mistakes. Because you represent one of the novelties of DeB, you talk about albums that interest me, and I share your analyses of the artists discussed. I’m writing some reviews that I’ll eventually post on DeB (when I have time to finish them). Mike Stern was missing; I would have included him. However, it must be said that after this album, Stern started a downward trajectory, not so much due to the quality of his albums, but rather because of the repetitiveness of his musical phrases. Best regards and sorry for the length of the comment.
John Surman Road to Saint Ives

Jake mea culpa I didn't even know who this Surman was. I took a look at his website, and I discovered tons of collaborations with legends, in short, a big deal. Thanks for the tip, I’ll fire up a Mulo and then I'll come back to vote on the work.

I hope the album lives up to the review. Simply perfect. Thermodynamic greetings.

Unusual to say... I'm truly sorry. Until next time, in better circumstances.

Jake, I would have bought that album too with that cover. I only know Glen Velez by name, for his collaboration with Metheny. By the way, after listening to "In C" by Terry Riley, forget about mental gymnastics, today I can be a personal trainer! Until next time, and thanks for the previous recommendations (Carla Bley above all) :)
The Rolling Stones The Rolling Stones, Now!

Yes, but what a drag... but is Maradona better than Pelé? And where do we put Di Stefano? And Van Basten?
A round of applause to the reviewer, though.

Alessio is undoubtedly one of the best pages in DeBaser's archive. You made my blood boil because I am from Salento and live in a reality similar to yours, in a town where the Sacra Corona Unita is well-rooted. I could fill this comment with many anecdotes similar to yours, but believe me when I tell you that the situation in my area is very much comparable to what you live through every day and that you have described so brilliantly. The only thing I can't believe is that you are a tired person who no longer believes in anything and has (as you say) gotten fed up. I bet instead that you are one of those young people from Campania who still gets angry, who is committed and protests. Best regards.
