Miles Davis Amandla

Hi Antonio, I just revisited this review of the good Aqualife; I believe I am the recipient of your (let’s call it that, exaggerating) reproach. But I don’t think I spoke lightly about Miles' work. I should be quite a fool to judge Davis based on an album I don’t like. I simply don’t find it a good album. I believe it has happened to you as well to listen to something from an artist you follow closely and to be disappointed. This is what happened to me with "Amandla". And I feel sorry in a way because the names are impressive and honestly, I expected more. Then you understand, these days "E.S.P." and "Filles des Kilimangiaro" are on loop, I’m positively saturated with the unreachable Davis. Greetings and… by the way. I seem to remember that you were a professional musician. Do you play around the Boot? Because if you find yourself in Salento, no one can take away a "Beck's" from you. Or if you’re abstinent, a green apple juice! ;)

What names! Absolutely must-have. A beautiful and smooth review as usual.

Beautiful, Jake, I had already skimmed through it a few days ago; The "Clusone Jazz..." I've heard it too. It's quite a punch, I must say.

Hi Giona, I agree with macaco's comment regarding the review. It's likely that the album isn't for me, but it doesn't hurt to give it a try. It's never that anyone gives you less than a 5!.... :)

Hi Water, nice to read you. What can I say, in my opinion the album has really turned out badly. I don't like anything, I don't like the sounds (everything is too stretched out), I don't like Miles' solos and even the compositions are quite bland. Definitely along with "Doo Bop," this is what I liked the least. Much better are "The Man With The Horn" and "Tutu."

And anyway, the section does not diminish the reviews/writings that are part of it; rather, it perhaps makes them Divèrs.

Here, I somewhat agree with everyone; but it doesn't cost anything to make the DeCasi link a bit more visible on the homepage, since even though I know about this section, I often forget it. I hypothesize (and if I'm wrong, I hope Telespalla won't take it the wrong way) that the feeling of judgment and "ghettoization" comes precisely from the poor visibility of the section.

Well... I agree with Grasshoppher. I’d just give it a lower score.

Macaco is a great new addition to Debaser.
