Let’s be honest: an album that tries to have it all risks having nothing. Welcome to DeBaser.

The book is a punch in the gut after 30 years. The movie is a watered-down version of the book; it might seem a bit like that, but it's not bad at all.

Welcome to DeBaser. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love Mimì, her voice, her songs, and her energy. Many times my mother sang her songs and made me listen to her records. Regarding the album, the period, it's all well described. In fact, during those years, among other things, she decided to reintroduce "La Donna Cannone," written for her by the Prince. Various comparisons and other stuff... circulating nonsense.

Let’s start with the book. I haven't read this one but another essay on the topic, "Proletarian Democracy" by William Gambetta, after two flattering reviews (on "Carmilla" and "Alias," a supplement of Manifesto). It’s an essay I recommend because it provides a good historical reconstruction, in my opinion. I also recommend, on this subject, "Parliaments." It’s a book by EDS, a small publisher, that collects all the parliamentary speeches of Paolo Volponi. He was a deputy of the PCI but offered an interesting and nonconformist perspective within the party. His theses were based on the little-known, yet extremely relevant nowadays, theories of Adriano Olivetti and his social model. A nice debate on DP would be well worth having, thoroughly and calmly.

"I'll try to do 'Niente di Serio'. Unless some bastard messes it up for me. In the meantime, here’s a 5 for you!"

Speaking of Ringo...

Who is this girl? Is that all she has done? I'm curious.

It’s truly a shame that few people read this review. Well done, you could have dedicated a couple more lines to the graphic design because the illustrations are fabulous (on topic, one day it would be worth discussing Shaun Tan). It’s a beautiful book, capable of transcending age categorization, with countless keys to interpretation. It’s for adults, children, and youngsters alike. P.S. Méliès was a genius. The special effects he produced, for his time, were impressive.

I want an in-depth look at Abruzzese Pagan Metal! One piece of advice for the review: I get that these bands are quite niche, but come on, tone it down a bit. You risk being overlooked if you try to be overly meticulous.

It's a truly unique album; I happened to listen to it again recently, and it still strikes me as challenging and definitely outside of certain standards. I understand why some might find it mediocre, but here and there it has left a couple of gems.
