As a lover and connoisseur of Kojima's series, I want to stand up for Lux. Let me clarify: on some points about MGS4, I can’t argue with him because, after all, he’s not wrong. He also acknowledges the merits of a series (but especially of MGS) that has been a revelation for many of my age or thereabouts. It opened the eyes of a lot of people. That huge box containing the two discs (with the old and beloved PS1) can be included in the list of generational myths, and rightly so, considering it contained elements that were probably unseen in that type of video game at the time. Then, it can be said that Kojima exaggerated a bit with the story (as many writers do when they create a hugely successful character), but we must give him credit for having created a brilliant and pivotal series for those that came after.
