Always too nice to me, thank you. A few replies. The album? In my opinion, it has everything it needs; I didn’t give it five balls for nothing. 11 songs in half an hour, you just pop it on and let it do its thing. In the end, you think, "this is music with some serious balls. Let me hear that again," and it grabs you even more than the first time. Dry guitars, no frills. Great bass and drums that follow perfectly. @Hardrock, when I saw them, I remember a guy (he must have been at least 40) said, "if they play a piece from Repeater, I’ll jerk off in front of everyone." He held back (but I still made a toast in his honor). @Trommy, "all three are fucking great musicians," I agree and you are absolutely right to emphasize it. We already knew about Joe, but the guitarist and drummer are not just any backing musicians. These are people who know what it means to play. On that occasion, couldn't you buy it, or did you save the bucks? If it’s the latter, you’re missing out on a potential "album of the year." @Messer Sfascia, my respects.

To understand this film, one must jump ahead 17 years, take two minutes from Nanni's most controversial film (Caro Diario), and then bring them back. Who were the ones shouting horrible things in the protests? The same ones who were extras or protagonists in Nanni’s films. Fabio Traversa would end up in "Le Comiche", we know who Mughini and Minzolini are: all three are there (but digging deeper, we find others). Nanni Moretti does everything on his own: he takes on everyone, including himself, using the magnificent art of irony. That’s why he shouted things that were right, because despite being debatable, he struck without hypocrisy when others, overnight, switched from protesting with masks to condemning the Red Brigades. And he does it on a low budget, demonstrating that sometimes you just have to believe in it. (Ir)realistic? I don't think so. A unique case? It doesn't matter. Is Italian cinema in crisis? Where? When? These are the years of the most devastating hits (“Salò,” “Todo Modo,” the last films of Italian Comedy), and where there is primarily entertainment, there is a monstrous quality, both technical and stylistic. There is no contestation, no revolution at stake, or at least, none according to the frameworks of current cinema (and the considerations of the years of lead).

I confess I don't know them, thanks for the tip.

We need a review of the "Teatro Cinelli"; right now it’s going from one "Festa della Lega" to another, but we love it just the same. Great Charlie!

Premise: Benigni is not launched by Bertolucci, at the same time he causes damage (in a positive way) under the aegis of Arbore in "L'altra domenica" (that whole group, along with many others, will bring out "Il pap'occhio" in 1980 and "FF.SS." in '83). Tuscany and the characters in this film really existed; there is very little that is invented. It’s a realistic snapshot of Italy, still very valid in my opinion (in the famous debate one of the protagonists says he is in favor of gender equality, except at home. Tell me if that is not a representation of Italian hypocrisy). It’s not just the quotes that make it genius. The "case del popolo" have disappeared, but the characters and the hypocrisies of the little people are hard to die.

It's the record for me, at least in words. Thank you.

Compared to certain crap we have over here, it has a good basic idea (the original subject is French), well-developed characters (especially De Marinis), and a good cast. Some episodes are truly beautiful.

The de-cases are the best of DeBaser. It's in the right place.

And then there would be that legendary one about Guns Chinese Democracy - Guns N' Roses - Recensione di CoccolutoStyle but that's clearly out of the competition.
