Jon Hassell Fourth World, Vol. 2: Dream Theory in Malaya

Well, thanks anyway for the additional tips: however, the fact that the content of the reviewed album is different from that cameo where I met Hassel doesn't seem negative to me, on the contrary... I like being taken by surprise :-)

I stumbled upon Hassell's trumpet while listening to the song "one cat, one vote, one beer," taken from Ry Cooder's beautiful concept album about the communist cat "my name is Buddy," and I must say it struck me. Given the review, this album seems like a valid introduction to the world of this trumpeter (can someone confirm that he is schizophrenic, or is that an urban legend?)... I'll try to get my hands on it; in the meantime, thanks for the excellent recommendation!
Carla Bley The Lost Chords Find Paolo Fresu

And live in Padua they were spectacular: the Sheppard-Fresu duets were much less essential, and the two seemed to engage in duels where the only winner was the emotion of those present. After watching the show, listening to the album -which is excellent, by the way- left me with a bit of a bitter taste... but it remains a Great Album, played by Great Musicians.

I admit that my heart opened up for this derecensione: my 15 years... then discovering the pleasure of how stimulating it was to keep my ears wide open to absorb all the stimuli, regardless of gender definitions... finally, the admiration for a group that, starting from this album, began to challenge themselves with every release with great results (too bad, as far as I'm concerned, for the last "real" one!). Great album!
Pharoah Sanders Black Unity

"I'm black and proud of it" ;-)! Well, I believe that the unwillingness to "decode" and understand other music/cultures is a trait that, unfortunately, goes beyond just the white/black relationship and extends to almost any form of "other" expression that isn’t pumped "by the media." My feeling is that the disinterest (when not outright aversion) towards the "other" exists both in terms of place of origin and in terms of time of origin... In addition to the Bradbury-like atmosphere of book burnings that I breathe daily, I have a strong sense that there is a lack of that dialectic with one's own memory as a tool to build the future, which in jazz, even in the most free forms, represented a fundamental element. It’s nice to see that there are valid exceptions on this site.
John Fahey Rain Forests, Oceans, And Other Themes
Voto:
Congratulations on the recommendation: Fahey was one of the most underrated American guitarists, and although I’m not familiar with this album, with some of his works, he truly brought about a small revolution. Chapeau.

Absolutely on point review with the content of "everything"... as nowadays Laura Pausini and Paola e Chiara put much more anxiety on me ;-)

And with the previous comment, I nominate myself for one of the dumbest ever posted on Debaser...and without even using a fake :-) !
