The worst ever? ihhh what an exaggeration... it has also gone unnoticed in three quarters of the civilized world. Ugly, yes, but I have been poisoned by much bolder abominations, even in times so recent that I can remember them too, as I am old and tired of living.

I completely agree with the last comment. Bowie was undoubtedly a sponge, but of great class and intelligence. And this chain of copy-copy would never end, as we could also reach Duran Duran.

William Friedkin L'esorcista

Divergent opinions, I was taught at school, help build a better world. Far be it from me to contribute in any way, especially in this context... but the story of narrative gaps convinces me little. At most, I'll concede that the thirtieth anniversary edition was poorly edited, making some passages (why is Reagan subjected to those checks before showing any symptoms?) unclear. I always recommend reading the book, because it's worth it, and only watching the original from '73. As for Tubular Bells, I really don’t think it was conceived as terrifying music, nor composed with the film in mind. Now we just need to dig up the old tale that The Exorcist is a right-wing film, that Friedkin has always been ideologically ambiguous, and that Cruising is annoyingly homophobic... And damned be, in purely chronological order, Scream and all those Eastern horrors.

I somewhat agree that it’s superior to "gentlemen," but I believe there's the usual sentimental value and a bit of nostalgia at play.
