James Blake Overgrown
Voto:
The kid knows his stuff; the self-titled album had already proven that. With Overgrown, he continues to showcase his talent. Here, there are more songs in the traditional sense, and the work benefits from its accessibility and freshness. Some mind-blowing tracks and a few fillers (the piece with RZA is nonsense).
The Knife Shaking The Habitual

for me it's even better than Silent Shout ;)
Savages Silence Yourself
Voto:
The girls know how to do it, the album, although pleasant, becomes boring over time. It feels like a carefully crafted project, too precise, with no imperfections, no "real" emotion. The comparisons to Pere Ubu and Joy Division are jarring (poor Ian is turning in his grave).
Clock Dva Advantage

Masterpiece!
Cranioclast Kolik-San-Art

maybe they should have reviews done by those who know how to do them, or review more accessible albums, about which one can actually say something while perhaps avoiding the usual clichés (calculated chaos, sound big bang...).
Raime Quarter Turns Over A Living Line
Voto:
brilliant record, and yes, there's something that recalls Scorn, but here the sound is more essential, stark, isolationist.
David Bowie The Next Day
Voto:
you can't write, come to terms with it.
and "the next day" is the best album since Outside, labeling it as a "bad" album (let's just ignore the adjectives you used) means being deaf or acting in bad faith.
My Bloody Valentine Mbv
Voto:
Work without meaning and above all without soul.
Loveless and Isn't Anything were two milestones, while MBV is an exercise in style that is pointless and exceedingly boring.
As an MBV fan, it pains me to admit it; it was better to remember the past glories.
Van der Graaf Generator Vital

Yes.
David Bowie The Next Day

...and yes, the cover is exactly that, conceptually interesting but graphically it's a flop.
