I don’t see a great heresy in the last sentence... on the contrary... anyway, these are always points of view... The review is very heartfelt and full of details, and the album... well... it’s undoubtedly one of the great masterpieces of progressive music. The time changes in Chord Change and the majesty of Lunar Sea (just to name two) captivate me with every listen... Exceptional...

I arrive with an unacceptable delay, but I want to share my thoughts on this album that I've been listening to a lot lately. I mostly agree with everything you've said, except maybe for the decidedly too severe judgment of "You Make Me Smile," which, despite being undoubtedly the most accessible track on the album, remains very enjoyable for me (though it’s a matter of taste, of course :)). Echoes, Starlight Ride, and The Sleeper are true gems, and Rainbow's End often brings tears to my eyes... The review is very detailed (just how I like it), and the album... well, it’s clear I’ll be giving it a 5...

I had put a little space between lines to make my previous comment slightly more understandable... Apparently, the comment style has to be "compact" by force... Oh well, it should still be understandable... (I hope)...

Thank you, Hetzer! I find myself pretty much in line with your thoughts... and I add that I too don't exactly know what to make of a title like "The Ass's Ears"... Anyway, just to avoid misunderstandings, here's the text:

The Ass's Ears

Someday soon we'll hear the cry of our conscience
Youthful indiscretion has been blamed
Caught between the broken glass of a promise
And integrity too weak to make a frame
Make a frame

We've eyeballed everything with wishful thinking
And midased everyone who could be touched
The ass's ears were handed down among us
Never has apollo laughed so much
Laughed so much

As usual we're too late to pay the piper
And anyway there is no tune to call
If fancy dress is worn at the finale
Who'll come as a mushroom to the ball
To the ball

And that's all... Bye!

To start listening to them, I would go in chronological order; "Greenslade" and "Bedside Manners are Extra" are two excellent albums I would focus on initially. The subsequent "Spyglass Guest" and this "Time and Tide" are at least a notch below; in fact, the most appropriate rating for this album would have been 3.5, but since I can't use decimals, I rounded up.

Thank you all for the comments! I know I tend to go on a bit, especially when describing the pieces, but I want to create a complete picture of the work I'm discussing, even at the cost of seeming boring. This way, those who are not yet familiar with the album have a detailed map in front of them that can guide them through the listening experience; while those who have already had several listens can compare their feelings with mine... Bye bye

Thank you for the comments! Kind as always.. @ Cristo: I’ll try to get it and I’ll definitely listen to it, thanks for the heads up! @ the esteemed editors: I wrote the genre before the review to classify the album but now it should be removed... Thanks again to everyone!

Thank you for the comments! @MATT: It seems that the purpose of this review has been achieved! I'm glad it helped you discover this work! Bye bye

Ha ha ha! Nice one! I also believe she would prefer to jump off the stage and blend in with the crowd (as unlikely as that may be) rather than play those kinds of pieces.. Bye bye

Right now, however, my attention towards the artist is focused on the release of his latest neoclassical research album. It's called "Tribute" (it should be an album of reinterpretations of compositions by Bach, Barrios, Granados, Segovia...) and it came out just under a week ago. For now, I haven't managed to get my hands on it yet, but I expect it to be a beautiful work.
