I like it anyway...

I have these two albums divided... and (as you can tell from my past reviews) I love the second one... Steve's acoustic soul captures and enchants me... speaking of live performances, I highly recommend Hungarian Horizons... also available on DVD... breathtaking! Acoustic greetings from me, Doc!

Damn it! So...does that mean that...I don't have a brain! Or at least it's seriously damaged! What a shocking revelation...I've decided that I will retreat to the top of a mountain to meditate on this disturbing discovery.

Thanks for the comments! @muito: I agree with you that this work won’t be originality made record, but I wanted to take other factors into account; after all, music can also be enjoyable without necessarily being pioneering... then certainly my measure is subjective... here on Debaser there is no detailed evaluation system, so, being able to assign a number from 1 to 5, I personally tend to give a purely indicative score, based not only on the artistic value of a work... but also on what it conveys to me... so it’s a score that should not be taken as law... but rather, it is a further prompt to foster an exchange of opinions, as in this case :)

Derivatives yes... but still interesting and very valid. The 4 stars are well-deserved.

I quote Jake, a truly enjoyable work even for the "uninitiated"... the album oozes a really positive atmosphere :)

Real music already gone in '75??? It would have been quite a problem...

Anyway, Jargon is right, huh... a review of "I Spider" would be just what we need... Doc, given the excellent work you've done here... and considering that these two wicked and dark characters have misled you and dragged you into the mystical yet treacherous path of prog (hehehe...) you could give it some thought... :p

As noted by Jargon, this album can very well be seen as the fourth work of The Web, following "Fully Interlocking" from '68, "Teraphosa Blondi" from '70, and "I Spider" from the same year. This last stunning work sees Dave Lawson taking the reins of the project… something that is also noticeable in this Samurai, which I find excellent. Right after the release of this album, as rightly pointed out in the review, Dave will join Greenslade as a vocalist and supporting keyboardist for the other Dave (Greenslade, indeed), and unfortunately, this style supported by all these wind instruments will be lost… of course, I don't mean to say that I don't appreciate Greenslade (I even wrote a review for goodness' sake!) but they will be something else... I'm tempted to give it a 5... And I will!.. And even a double one! Ta-da! ;)
