I know the album and it's not really my style, but the review is clear and invites me to listen.

Ole, in my opinion neither the Mellow nor the Tudor are on par with the Trees, let alone the Dando. I'm sorry I can't provide you with irrefutable reasons, but I believe that the threshold between interesting folk and predictable folk is extremely subjective, so the best I can do is suggest you give a quick listen on their myspace: Welcome to the new Myspace! - Welcome to the new Myspace!

@Shò: I'll see if I can think about it, okay? :D

Thank you Vì, thank you Opel; if something I've written can bring positive feelings, I really can't ask for anything more :)

Finally! Mystery revealed... Undertaker's Circus - Ragnarock (written with an added "c" compared to the Swedish, New Zealand, and metal Ragnarok). At this point, a listen is a must :D

That's exactly the problem: aside from those we already know, there are very few truly deserving groups, at least regarding the '70s; I don’t know much about more recent bands. The fact is that many formations have been labeled "acid folk with progressive touches," even though we're actually talking about infinitesimal contaminations, far removed from interesting groups like Spyrogira or Jan Dukes de Grey. The traditional melodic component is too pronounced to leave room for truly noteworthy progressive elements, so for ears trained in the complexities of prog, bands like Fresh Maggots, Mushroom, Caedmon, Mellow Candle, Synanthesia, Phoenix, Pearls Before Swine, Ptarmigan, Tudor Lodge, Forest, Midwinter, Eden, Ougenweide, etc., will still come across as boring or too soft. I asked Jargon for his opinion, and so far he mentioned Musica Ficta and Sussita (a contemporary Israeli band that is very symphonic and solid if you don’t mind the language of the vocals), but they're quite hard to find. As soon as I come into contact with truly unique bands, you’ll know, either through a message or a direct review if they impress me :) Bye!

@Opel: I say he was yodeling.. @Jargon: Thanks for the tips! I will wait for further instructions :)

Oh yes, quite a compact review, but given the character in question, it's easily forgiven :)
