Paradise Lost Icon
Voto:
In my opinion, Icon is the best work produced by the English of Halifax. Great sounds, excellent vocals, interesting lyrics, and plenty of inspiration. I saw them live during the supporting tour for this album, and they delivered a truly remarkable performance. Too bad about the FAKEdark-wave turn that happened a few years later...
Paradise Lost Lost Paradise

A gray production and a certain monothematic quality make this album decidedly unmemorable. The PL will have the opportunity to improve in the following years after this debut, producing works of a much higher caliber.

Due to the review, frankly. The album isn't produced very well and sometimes feels a bit repetitive, but it's not bad at all.

I saw it a few months ago in the used CD section of a store. I wonder if it's still there.... Anyway, great review, congratulations!
Megadeth Rust In Peace

But come on, exposing oneself to public ridicule with a review like that is madness...

Apart from the disgusting cover, this album really didn't convince me at all.

Ah, I don't know if you're familiar with the prophetic and caustic warning that Steve Albini delivered when this Saturation was released.........

I remember the enthusiastic reviews of this album in Rumore when it was released. Oh yes, I would really love to have the chance to listen to it...
Red Red Meat There's a Star Above the Manger Tonight

Very eccentric and very angular, yes... but unfortunately this album didn’t win me over, even though the quality is at a high level.
The Obsessed The Church Within

Aaaah how many memories this album brings! It was an integral part of my personal soundtrack before graduation! Nostalgia aside, I think the rating of 3.5/5 is truly perfect; every now and then it’s still enjoyable to listen to, perhaps due to some sentimental reason, who knows. Surely, the music of the Obsessed in this work is not (anymore) strictly doom, but even though it’s by no means a masterpiece, it’s an album that has its own worth.
