mmm well, I’ll skip over the absolute value of the film in every sense, which is obvious. I just wanted to reflect on what struck me immediately the first time I saw it: the society that produces monsters, which instead of trying to understand and uproot the deep-seated causes behind it, can only act grotesquely, ridiculously, cruelly, unjustly, and nonsensically on the consequences, worsening the situation in a fundamentally self-destructive way. The scene with the protagonist's buddies becoming police officers and the final handshake between Alex and a representative of the established power says more than a thousand words. A film of immense value, not only from a cinematic perspective but also, and perhaps especially, from a social and sociological one.

I met them thanks to Dark, who made me listen to "Cow." I knew nothing about him, nor did I know that he had committed suicide; that song hit me in the gut immediately, so intensely, just like the whole debut album. Awesome.

I like their blend of genres and influences, which many find hard to digest, also because it somehow sounds cohesive. Deliberately exaggerated in everything, yet I still like it.

I'll say something trivial, I know, but people like him and Monicelli are so badly missed in this drifting country.

At times, Crowe resembles Verdone in this film.

So, the rating I gave after 3 listens, I had started listening to it without any expectations and instead I like it. I also started re-listening to Black Holes and Revelations and The Resistance. Well, inexplicably I'm reevaluating them, and in general I'm starting to regain some interest in them and in their shift after Absolution, which initially didn't convince me. In the end, I think they did well to take other directions, avoiding the endless repetition of clones of Origin of Symmetry/Absolution.
