I have always regarded it as a nice transitional album, far from the masterpiece that many talk about and distant from the masterpiece with Barrett in my opinion. "Atom Heart Mother" is the first album after Barrett where they display their true identity in the lineup with Gilmour, after a couple more warming-up albums following this one.

stunning album, it manages to give you the same effect as loveless without being a faded copy; of course, loveless remains unbeatable, but I needed an album that would continue to give me the effect of loveless, which isn't anything, while excellent, did not deliver.

I read somewhere that MBV could be seen as the missing link between isn't anything and loveless, and it's true, considering the enormity of the leap forward made by loveless compared to the first album.
