Strange album. At times wonderful, at times embarrassing. However, I'll still give it a 4.
Charles Bukowski Panino Al Prosciutto

The fact that the novel is incredibly easy to read—almost like a collection of thoughts at times—stands in stark contrast to the harshness and incredible despair that permeates it from start to finish. I wouldn't use the term nihilism, but there’s a particular engagement from the author that feels different from the usual Buk we’re used to seeing; adolescence is depicted exactly as it is: a SHITSHOW. I think everyone who has read it has found themselves, at least once, in the shoes of young Chinaski; the women, the solitude, the first experiences with alcohol, the brawls, the misfits who become your friends... all of it, though, filtered through Hank's usual sly gaze, which still gives everything a tenderly sad light, in his typical style where the world can fall apart but in the end, who cares. Moving. The review is well-written, but it needs a lot of smoothing out; it's too long and repetitive.

I haven't listened to it yet (it's been sitting on my PC for months), but you've convinced me anyway. I'll make up for the lack soon.

I've never understood how a (beautiful) dance record could be accepted and praised on Debaser. All the better.
