Don Caballero What Burns Never Returns

Let's say it's a great album right from the title and the cover. They struck me so hard that while listening to them, I've often wondered if I should take down the poster of my favorite drummer (Stefano D'Orazio from the Pooh) from my room and finally get rid of the tapes of Alunni del Sole and Profeti that I have in my car. However, I haven't had the courage to do it because listening to Don Caballero excessively can lead, in my opinion, to madness, and because when you slow down at the sight of a rest area to turn right, you can't do it with Don Caballero, but with "Applausi" by the Camaleonti, for instance, or "Disperatamente io ti amo" by Caterina Caselli, certainly not with Don Caballero. Applause to you too; if you write again, know that for stuff like this, you can't give less than 5 (and I'm telling you this as someone who weighs their grades carefully). Sincerely Yours, but also always Yours, Il_Paolo

Let's be clear: an artist and an album that are an instigation - not even that subtly - to suicide. The idea of the unlucky Masini as a bringer of misfortune starts to take off around '92-'93: here, however, there were those declaring him the "new Battisti," and a lot of young women who are now in their thirties or older - under potential torture or following the administration of truth serum provided by deviant intelligence services or the Brabant gang - would eventually confess to having experienced their first or second loves convinced they were the heroines of a Masini song. Luckily, back then, unaware of it all, I was getting hyped up by Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer, living happily through my years and swooning for Totò Schillaci and the tempting Maddalena. Yours sincerely, Il_Paolo

Well. Commendable choice, and a clever review; you know I appreciate those who propose this kind of artistic expression on Debaser. My old friend laRock already did one, complete with a stellar debate in the comments, so yours seems a bit superfluous. Sincerely yours, Il_Paolo

Absolute masterpiece, no doubt about it. The blue steel is already a legend. Tropic Thunder, however, is no less.

I have to tell my cousin la_Carmela, she was crazy about it. In fact, now I’ll tell her to sign up on Debaser and start reviewing the things she listened to while ironing back in the day.

Really great, nothing to say. But not the best band of the decade. Even if with different accents, on the other side of the Ocean, Steely Dan were better.

@Grafton - are you studying law or literature? I don't know what makes me think that ;))))).... the last time I was there, the Guy was not only rallying the crowd but even organizing a sit-in in the style of Santoro from the good old days, which was attended by elderly bourgeois from Padua and disheveled students, none of whom fully understood the madness of the moderator! What a sight for my eyes! Madly Yours, Il_Paolo

Always a guarantee, Jake. It's no coincidence that this festival is named after Porsche: those who know Padova tell me that the ratio between the local population and Porsche owners is 3 to 1, one Porsche for every three inhabitants, in short. The other two own an SUV. So, when I come there, we can have a de-meeting at the caffè Pedrocchi, or at Cavour to save a bit (is that guy still out there giving speeches to the crowd in the square?!? I was shocked when I saw him). Sooner or later, I’ll have to dedicate some time to the "lesser" Northeast. Spritzingly Yours, Il_Paolo
