Muffin, I admire you because I read your comments on others' reviews. What I don't understand about you is your stubbornness in giving 1 to my writings, censoring my choices more than my reviews, pretending to ignore the spirit that animates them and which is well understood by other readers. I'm not trying to be alternative, as you say, because on this site the reviews of the genre you like are wasted, while the niche I've chosen, trying to approach things with balance and a calm judgment, is not very frequented, except by a few friendly fakes who aim for pure provocation. Be patient...

Well, look, Schumacher's Batman II is unthinkable... I don't agree with the idea of conscious trash; it's just a haphazardly thrown-together product, more suited to my reviews than to the good Velluto.

Dear Mien, I suppose you are from Catania or thereabouts. Thank you for your appreciation, as I also value you as a reviewer, and I am pleased that you picked up on the Christian/Julio-Palermo/Real-Palerm o/Madrid-Sicily/Spain proportion, with a certain Bourbon touch. What can I say... reviews need to be concise and, therefore, I couldn't do more. But I will strive to improve myself according to the guidelines you wisely and kindly lay out.

Ok, I was thinking of reviewing something by Bergman.

Beautiful and heartfelt as a review. I don't know the album, oh my, I'm not very fond of him, but it would be interesting to see him at work as a professor of classical literature.

Dear Muffin, I'm sorry about what you wrote. First of all, it doesn't seem to me that I've erred excessively in my review, keeping in mind the tastes of those who read me; moreover, I don't intend to be alternative on this site by reviewing what you read. As is clear from my profile, the purposes are different and, as you often can notice, when assigning scores I always strive to be balanced and objective, without giving films or albums a string of 4s or 5s. Then, of course, it's a matter of tastes and sensitivities, no controversy on my part. This was just to clarify my point of view and help you interpret my pieces in a more relaxed manner. In any case, since someone is being ironic about my reviews, in the near future I will try to focus on something serious: give me some suggestions. Yours, Il_Paolo

Beautiful, I partially disagree with Velluto who, in fact, sometimes transcends into too many theories. However, I must note how this time the reference to Marinetti is entirely appropriate, in the terms presented by the reviewer, to whom I nonetheless give my praise.

@artaud: I hope you haven't misunderstood my words; I had no polemical or didactic intentions, it's always a matter of perspectives; and if I'm telling you this, it's regarding the themes of my reviews...

Well... in my opinion, your review misses the essence of the film, which is the terror that man feels in the face of the unknown, the unsaid, the unexplained. In this regard, the film is a model, as it manages to frighten you without showing you anything, indeed, with continuous reticence and narrative ellipses, very well represented by Weir. Here, moreover, the landscape itself is the protagonist and the enemy of the young women. This aspect is also captured in the book on which the film is based: if I'm not mistaken, some critics suggest that the girls were actually killed by a teacher.

@poletti: I don't know if you've seen the scenes in question, but in my opinion, they are extremely valid from a technical and inventive standpoint. Likewise, the locations serve the story well. Always with the aim of a critical reevaluation of lesser Italian cinema, you know well that I don't like to think in absolutes.
