Let's look at some numbers just to clarify, taken from www.hitparadeitalia: “The Game” ranked 40th in 1980, preceded, among others, by Pupo (“Più di prima,” 22nd), Alan Sorrenti (“Di notte,” 19th), and Pooh (“Stop,” 17th), etc.; nothing in the following years; “The Works” at 37th in ’84, preceded, among others, by Richard Clayderman (“A come amore,” 29th), Tony Esposito (“Il grande esploratore,” 28th), and Ricchi e Poveri (“Voulez vous danser,” 16th); “A Kind of Magic” at 62nd in 1986, preceded, among others, by Pooh (“Giorni infiniti,” 16th), the Top Gun soundtrack (22nd), and Rapsodia veneziana (“Rondò veneziano,” 53rd). Things definitely improved in ’91, with “Innuendo” at ninth place, and in ’92 with the Greatest Hits II even at second place. I repeat, these figures do not serve to define the value of the band, which I believe is high regardless of personal tastes, but confirm what I mentioned earlier about the "relative" public success of the quartet in Italy during the ’80s. @Pamparius: I'm sending you this link, from which it emerges that the group, despite having a certain following, was certainly not among the most followed in Italy in the early '80s. Of course, we won't get into controversies about the figures or the value of the group. Yours, Il_Paolo Nothing found for Specials Queenitalia84

On the minister, there are those who think differently from you: Tiscali What troubles me, however, is not that Carfy has been made a minister, but the fact that - with that stupid and fixed missionary gaze, clearly visible in the photo in the link - she wants to present herself as someone entirely different from her glossy origins, demonstrating: a) that she lied when she played the good girl, bending to the values of others out of a lust for success, or, alternatively; b) that she is lying now. In the residual hypothesis that her conversion is genuine, let the saying hold that there is no worse fanatic than a convert! SV, Il_Paolo

About Queen, it must be said that - before Freddie's death - in Italy they were hardly noticed by anyone. Here they are curiously a posthumous phenomenon, from the '90s, and a paradoxical form of resistance of certain young people to the prevailing grunge of the time: it is no coincidence that they appeal to those born from the mid-'70s onwards, while if you interview someone ten, twelve, or fifteen years older, they won't be able to tell you much about them. The controversy over the "commercial" nature of their music, raised by the critics Velluto and Lavalin, should therefore be downplayed from this perspective. More than anything else, they are essentially a group with a "pop" attitude, in the broadest sense of the term. SV, Il_Paolo

I remembered correctly, here it is, in fact, a link that clarifies the matter: Orizzonti Kubrickiani: Kubrick porno

Bravo Rivoli, mesmerising as always. This Caligula roughly revisits a theme that has always lingered in the minds of filmmakers. Kubrick, well before Eyes Wide Shut, was tantalized by the idea of making an uncensored pornographic film, of course in his own way and with a real story behind it. For the lead role, he had thought of Julie Andrews (this is the most brilliant idea of the 20th century), who, however, declined. But the idea was partially recycled by Blake Edwards, the beautiful actress's husband, in S.O.B., if I’m not mistaken.

Nice review, the idea of introducing forgotten, if not unknown, bands here on Debaser is very valid.
