A chilling review, and not just for the face - the story - of Skip. I look forward to your hagiography of Kim Fowley.

Yes Poletti... but the boyfriend of Capotondi who ends up as a European parliamentarian had me in stitches. In my opinion, it's misguided not to accept these things and not to appreciate them for whatever they are worth: I understand sommeliers, but why disdain the sprite?

I quote Lavalin in the part where he says the film is touching, but it couldn't be otherwise. @peter: minor, the first thing that comes to mind is minus habens, then all the cinema and music that I try to discuss - also for you - on this site.

Alright Judge, I’ll take care of it. Just as that gourmet Muito surely will, if I know him well.

Well, I just don't get some criticisms: for instance, the final minutes of the film, with the legendary interrogation by Faletti and the references to "what happened to" the protagonists, I find truly enjoyable - and subtly ironic. Moreover, the figure of the disillusioned professor, a lover of rock but confined to the clichés of his character and the need to be serious and irreproachable (when deep down he remains a playful boy), is very poetic. It's fair that today's Italian cinema also includes "Gomorra" and "Il divo," but let's not be too harsh on this artisanal work (and then, where do we put the legendary '80s t-shirts?!?!?).
Steve Hackett Guitar Noir & There Are Many Sides To The Night

Very good as always, by now a certainty on Debaser. I always look forward to your reviews and your original thoughts on album covers! Hackett is great; he often gets overlooked when talking about Genesis and progressive rock in general (for instance, Steve Howe sometimes seems to enjoy greater fame).

There’s no doubt that you are talented. As for John Lennon, I think he was fortunate to partner with Paul McCartney until 1969, then – aided by his new wife – he became a strange specimen of the radical chic, preaching peace and love from his Manhattan penthouse, positioning himself as a champion of values that were not quite clear. And, aside from two or three songs (Instant Karma and the hypocritical Imagine above all), he became a sort of monument to himself, with little to say on an artistic level.

Interestingly, I've never seen this film, but the review is convincing, discussing a group of actors/artists that I greatly admire and who, in the '60s and '70s, innovated the language of Italian comedy in an original way (unfortunately, not living up to expectations in the following decade). I agree on the greatness of Cochi Ponzoni (not just Renatone Pozzetto). One point of contention: I would have spent a few more words on the director Samperi, a subversive author whose career can be said to have ended in '83 when he helped Toni Negri escape to France. Strange stories intertwine in "minor" Italian cinema!
