Lorimeri Una storia fantastica
Voto:
Thank you, as always, to everyone, including critics. @Iride: you seem a bit bitter, relax a little. Pasolini would have appreciated the Lorimeris. Unfortunately, I’m not a professor – but I admit I would like to be one, if it were possible to teach "minor" music in middle school – doing a job that's a bit more humble than a professor. However, with its advantages: if I had been a professor today, I would have had to teach classes, while I went to the beach all day, to avoid returning to work suddenly and jarringly (a sort of decompression from vacation). @laRock, Birba, Chaw, Lavalin, and everyone else: thank you truly from the heart, knowing that I have readers like you is for me, a consolation and a motivation to improve myself.

The people involved (Pàmela, Virginia, Tamara, Jessica, Ludmilla, Karin, etc.) would be saddened to be defined this way. Fortunately, in the afternoon they go shopping or do aerobics, and they don't read such insensitive and rude comments as yours, which also show a poor understanding of the female world or, anyway, a certain bitterness.

If Ian Curtis had not committed suicide, the band would have disbanded in 1982, after a last, disappointing live performance (without overdubs, with a weak sound). The others would have formed New Order, as indeed they did, while Curtis would have continued, after a couple of years away from the scene, with a solo career lacking in major satisfaction: he would have simultaneously formed a duo with Paul Weller - the Dark Mods - then he would have provided backing vocals on a Smiths single (The Other Side of the Suicide), releasing albums under his own name in 1985, 1987, and 1990. In the '90s, aside from a few sporadic tours in clubs, he would have dedicated himself to family and children, being resurrected by Damon Albarn - first in "The Great Escape", where Curtis would have duetted in "Country House" - then with the production of Curtis's own comeback: "From The Grave To The Stage." Ascended to the role of secret director of Gorillaz, Curtis would have made quite a bit of money and today would be lounging with fans on a Greek island. Well, you tell me what the better ending is. Why, Judge? The people I've described really exist. They would never come to you, though. What you’re missing out on.

@Psycho: I don't know, this one was Albanian. I don't know why she was called Oneida, but somehow I made her a fan of the group. No joke.

@Kemo and all readers: sorry, it's inexcusable to attribute "L'infinito" to Foscolo. It is, of course, by Giovanni Leopardi. Correctly Yours, Il_Paolo

Well done, I really like them. Once I met someone named Oneida (by the way, not a bad name) but she DID NOT know the Oneida. I recommended them to her, and she got to know them, as she told me months later. Terrible: it’s like me not knowing Gino Paoli.

Dear Count, you caught me with my age and the things I used to do (you’re sharp, as well as quite the charmer). Keep in mind, however, that us fortysomethings aren’t as outdated as you might imagine; we can choose between the company of disillusioned peers who are nonetheless happy to indulge in a few hours of joy and oblivion, before age presents the bill of solitude and career sacrifices, or twenty-somethings who see in us what truly matters: not the physical appearance, the well-groomed mustache, but economic stability, social standing, the nice car, the dinner date, and the cinema. Here’s the beauty of my age (and, when you reach it, yours): giving a Moccia book to a young and hopeful girl, taking her in the SUV or the A3 to see "Le ragazze del Coyote Ugly" or "Notte prima degli esami oggi," outshining the competition of those much younger than you. Forty times yours, Il_Paolo

You, in real life, must be a meticulous person, extremely punctual; maybe you get angry with friends if they are late or don’t pay attention to you or don’t share their personal stories. You listen to a lot of music, you went to a classical school, you confuse Pico della Mirandola with someone else, you consider Giannozzo Manetti a precursor of the Enlightenment, and many other things. You used to have long hair and then you cut it, to the delight of the most refined and credible of your friends (and your girlfriend, who indeed considers those friends refined and credible). It shows in the way you write. Good job (I’ll never listen to this stuff, not even if they played it for me in the car radio).

Dear Count, thank you for calling me "cultured" (actually, I read Selezione to inform myself, I don't go much further), while I regret that you consider me useless. Sorry for the delay in my response; last night, while you were posting the above, I was busy testing, in an unaware and uncultivated way, therefore "experimental," what you know so well on a "theoretical" level. From today, also emphasizing our mirroring, call me "Azione." Joking aside (I know you don't know the theory so well, and that you actually find me useful), when I come to Rome, I'll treat you to pizza+beer+panna cotta at Liuzzi, the one behind the Colosseum, I believe on S. Giovanni Laterano. Fluidly Yours (Il_Paolo)
