For Heaven's sake. Aside from the first album and a bit of the next one... then he had to focus on other things.

Aesthetically like clowns. I found them hard to digest. However, the first two albums were (and still are?) listenable. Pleasant. Nothing more. Even today, I wonder if Taylor really knew how to play the guitar (and Rodhes, all show and no substance?).
Peter Gabriel Live in Bologna Unipol Arena 21/11/14

I loved him so much. Ever since I bought Foxtrot on sale in 1973 and then started following Genesis. I was 13 years old. As a solo artist, he has created beautiful things (PGIII - PGIV and Passion above all, in my opinion). However, it seems to me that he has been stuck for far too many years. Nothing new. Nothing exciting. Then again, perhaps he is also overly idolized here.
Pink Floyd Endless River
Voto:
Useless album. I agree. In fact, to be honest, I'm pretty much in agreement with everything you've written. Even about the fact that Gilmour's last solo work was and is... quite mediocre (I didn't like the debut much either, let alone About Face!). Endless River will sell a lot. However, I really don't think I'll buy it. I'm not interested. I'd rather remember Wright as he was in Pompeii or in other films from those years and earlier. Or, I listen again to the vinyl Wet Dream. Where, amidst simplicity and lightness, I still feel his charisma, education, and good taste.
Sting The Dream Of The Blue Turtles

I must say that Sting really gets on my nerves. Always has. I've never liked the Police except for the first album, which I consider the best. For its spontaneity and vigor. In short, it’s awesome. Then, little by little, the stinger and company kind of lost their way. But this is just my humble opinion, which will infuriate many. I've never disdained this first solo work of his. However, frankly, it’s been 25 years since I last listened to it. There must be a reason.......

Can someone tell me if the vinyl version is worth it? Thanks.
U2 Fabio Fazio: "gli U2 a Che tempo che fa"
Voto:
I was nearly forced to watch and listen to yet another boring and pointless interview. I wonder why certain television personalities, who have the honor of hosting these famous (like them or not) singers or bands, can never manage to conduct a proper interview. Fazio is truly absurd. Absurd that he does TV, I mean. It reminded me of that epic interview Celentano did with David Bowie (the king of the ignorant, now I see why). No luck: they can't even manage to put together 10 minutes of decent television, even if they agree beforehand. Bowie was very irritated by it. Bono (unbearable) stopped being a rocker 25 years ago. And the latest album is terrible.

Well.......it's a record I forgot after listening to it a couple of times. Let's just say I wouldn't recommend buying it. There's better out there, as they say. P.S.: are you referring to Ultravox! or Ultravox? The former is better, right? Anyway....I digressed. Bye.
Blue Oyster Cult Curse Of The Hidden Mirror

A band that I loved and still love very much. Tyrrany, Secrets Treaties, and the splendid double live On Your Feet or on Your Knees are definitely frame-worthy. However, the AOR turn penalized them a lot. Still, I have always followed them with curiosity and respect. A few too many line-up changes, unfortunately. Recently, Allan Lanier, the keyboardist, passed away, if I’m not mistaken. Anyway, this COTHM is not to be thrown away. Bloom, in the studio, still held up well. Live, from what I’ve seen posted on YouTube……not so much. As I already said, out of respect and for what they were - during my childhood - 3 stars for sure.
Phil Collins Both Sides
Voto:
When his first solo work was released, I too was swept up in frenzy and bought it. It was still the vinyl era. Face Value was an elegant album, too polished to ever win me over. This one you reviewed, of course, I didn’t buy. Thanks to a friend’s loan, I managed to listen to it. Frankly, I have vague memories of it, and they're not even positive. Phil was now a pop star, insufferable to the point that even his vocal timbre grated – and still grates – on my nerves. In short, I respect everything good he did (in Genesis pre and post Gabriel, anyway up to Wind & Wuthering; Brand X, various collaborations like with Eno, Gabriel, Oldfield, and Tears for Fears, for example), but over time I found his artistic productions truly mediocre. If I think of Sussudio or the soundtrack of The Lion King, I feel a lump in my throat…
