@ Giona: I admit I am too.....orthodox. I’m flawed. Anyway, I respect all opinions too. Hi

...I wrote something stupid: I think it was 1979 when I bought it. Sorry.

@ xBend: my bootleg features on the cover - made of rough cardboard, brown in color - solely the writing USA GENESIS. Keep in mind that at the time, I believe in 1989, at the store where I bought it, there were several versions identical to the one I purchased. In fact, for quite a bit more, I could have had it with red vinyl. The track list is as follows: burning rope, ripples, deep in the motherlode, say it's alright joe, follow you follow me. However, from some accounts from those times, the Genesis definitely performed songs from the "old repertoire." Unfortunately, I think they were deliberately cut here. I bought it sealed, because the track list does not appear on the sparse cover. Cheers.

Forgive me. But the 3 old men have now become a caricature of themselves. They will always have tens of thousands of fans filling the arenas to see them, but as far as I'm concerned, the various Mama, I can't dance, invisible touch, etc. could have been spared. But have they lost their dignity?? I'm sorry, but I loved the 3 old men so much, and now - in fact, for almost 30 years - I find them unbearable. What a waste. Am I being too harsh???

Of course, I won't rate the work because I've never listened to it. But, nonetheless, it would deserve a solid 5, given that it's an unmissable document. It's disappointing to read that you're being criticized so fiercely for your writing style. Anyway, going back to the live performance, many years ago I also listened to some bootlegs from that tour and, unfortunately, the vinyl quality was terrible. Gabriel seemed off time, and Banks was dreadful. But, I repeat, it was the recording that misled everyone. I have a bootleg from the ... And Then There Were Three tour, taken from a concert in the USA. Here, the recording is excellent (the version of Ripples is chilling). However, without Hackett and Gabriel, they are no longer the Genesis I love!!! Bye and thanks.

Forgive the interruption. I believe that Genesis cannot be compared to VDGG and King Crimson. They are three fundamental groups of progressive rock. Probably, at least for me, VDGG and KC are more "cerebral" compared to Genesis. But don’t get me wrong! This doesn’t take away from the fact that Genesis, up to "Wind & Wuthering," have been infinitely beautiful. Hammill and Fripp— as leaders—have certainly experimented more.

But does everyone really like The Battle of .....? I believe that this masterpiece, this composition that opens the B side of the vinyl, is the least convincing. Perhaps that's why I personally assign a nice 9 and a half to Selling England by the Pound and a full 10 to Foxtrot. Please, don’t massacre me now!!!!

... by the way, you are right about Bruford's current activity. It seems he won't be part of the KC line-up - what a shame - and maybe Fripp has decided that the current drummer fully satisfies him. Anyway, there is no confirmed news.

@ Dr.Adder: don't mention it. You have a refined taste. Bye
